Last year I read Perfect World by Brian James. And it changed my life. So I eagerly have been hunting down some of his other novels. Unfortunately Pure Sunshine disappointed. Maybe I just had my standards to high. The story was easy enough to get into and it had me turning pages at a reasonable pace right to the very end. But it didn't really have a point or some greater story. It was like coming in at the middle of a show watching fifteen minutes and then leaving so you miss the ending. You're able to immerse yourself for the time being but never really get the whole story. Disappointing effort.… (more)

How could I resist putting this on my to-read shelf? The second I saw a Sas Christian on the cover of a book I was hooked!

I love how Brian James writes. It's almost in prose and it's very intense and hard hitting, especially on such controversial subjects as sexuality in minors, homelessness, and drug abuse. He's such a wonderful writer!
