Very interesting take on the Contemporary. Though I believe depression is a bit more complex than what he describes. It appears to be only a result of the way we self-monitor ourselves but I believe there are more aspects to it than that.
I especially like the part about tiredness, it was quite insightful on how I-tiredness differs from we-tiredness.

4-stars because he pretends to have figured out depression while not taking things like trauma into account.

Basically fantastic up until the last chapter, which brings it down quite a few notches. Still worth reading, discussing, and developing further.

Insightful and intriguing perspectives, but Byung-Chul Han leaves something to be desired. I wish he expounded more on his positions, providing more examples of how things are manifesting in the world, in practical life. There is a circling around of his assertions that remain in the abstract. He's sincere and the points are important, but I just wanted them more developed.
