I loved this book. It's not a shopping ban tutorial. It's more of a memoir. But it made me rethink a lot of my own mindless consumption. I'm grateful to have read it, and I expect that I will re-read it again sometime in the near future.

I liked the overall read about how to improve one's life as an analogy of climbing a mountain. I would have preferred to read more personal impacts/stories of how the author achieved this instead of just talking about the steps. Overall it was a quick read - would give 3/5 stars.

This book was a bit different from what I first thought it would be but I still enjoyed it. It is a memoir of Flanders journey over a year long spending freeze. She changed and grew in ways she never anticipated. I love personal growth stories and Flanders certainly grew from her great experiment.
