Early talkie is a little creaky, but benefits greatly from Colman's charm. Francis is the leading lady, but while her acting is fine, it's a bit hard to undertstand why, for a time, she was a much bigger star than Bette Davis! (The author of the original Raffles story was Arthur Conan Doyle's brother-in-law, by the way.)

Colman is his usual charming self playing a wayward son returning to England after his latest failure (in Kenya) who meets his sister's friend (the irresistible Loretta Young) and takes her to the Derby. Young is so stunning here that Colman leaves Myrna Loy for her! And that is saying something. Lots of fun all the way through.
