For the Love of Magic (A Spellbound Falls Romance) by Janet Chapman
Rana Oceanus has left her husband and bought a run down house by the sea to find answers to some questions and hide a secret she's afraid to share. She determines to learn metal-crafting and make her own decisions away from an overprotective husband. It doesn't help that he is a God and can control all kinds of magic. Titus doesn't understand what is wrong and tries to get her back. This was a fun book with lots of characters from other books in the series popping in and out.
Olivia Baldwin manages the operations of Inglenook camping resort while the owners run the family therapy workshops. She and her daughter live on the premises. Max Oceanus brings his newly discovered six year old son to the camp to learn how to be a good father. Olivia and Max are attracted but there is a lot going on behind the scenes for both of them and for Max it all has a magical sense. Fun read with a good bit that is over the top. Lots of drama.

It’s interesting to say the least, the first book I’ve read from this author, at the time that I am reading it the language used is expected of the time that it was written, slightly misogynistic, and the use of words like Alpha male can be cringy but are still used in this day. While the writing itself is not bad, the story is all over the place. Her being a mathematician rocket scientist, virgin at 30 y.o. and that she is almost kidnapped by people who want to use her experiment as a weapon was a curve ball I wasn’t expecting. As I have not yet finished the book I am rating it so far at 3 stars.… (more)

I love Janet Chapman's writing. She creates characters that I'd want to know. I love that I know her stories are going to have a happy ending. This book, like all her others, are delightful, light reads that draw the reader in and keep you reading until late in the night. I'm always a little sad when I finish one of her books because now I have to wait until the next one comes out in a few months.
