Ehhh. Being a lady scientist who snarks, I figured this would be up my alley... and it sort of is. Science ...for her is a fake textbook like [b:America (The Book): A Citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction|706|America (The Book) A Citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction|Jon Stewart|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1157224104s/706.jpg|1589081], except instead of a team of writers, it's only Megan, writing as a more unhinged, shallower version of herself. There are traces of actual science, but much like salt on the rim of a margarita they're mostly garnish (as genius bonuses if you know the science/history/etc. behind references). The section on legitimate rape was smartly funny, but will date the book for future readers (does anyone remember who Todd Akin is anymore??)

I don't absolutely loathe the book, but definitely not on any of my top 10s.

Barely merits one star, but I loved the cover and the concept. Her schtick (Xander) though soon gets old, and the rest of the content was egregiously crass. I'm all for irreverence as a source of humor, but this was so disrespectful of so many groups (lesbians, fat people, black people, women, even a joke about the way Sylvia Plath died) that in the end it was just too offensive to be funny. She makes Chelsea Handler and Amy Sedaris look like religious old ladies. I would highly NOT recommend this to anyone. I should have just had a strong shot of booze or a whack to the head, with the same effect.

Award: This book made me create an "Awful" shelf.

This is supposed to be funny. An "expert" book written as a satire.

I tend to think I have an excellent sense of humor. I enjoy sarcastic, even caustic, but this was a DNF for me. I found very few genuinely funny parts, and after a couple chapters gave up digging for them.
