The blogs on the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) webpage are invaluable for librarians. ALSC is a division of the ALA, and right now there are 5 blogs on diverse programming topics for children's libraries. It is quite helpful to read them. For example, recently on December 16th, 2010 a Youth Services Manager posted a blog called "Preschool Programs Beyond Storytime." One librarian gave her favorite ideas such as a chalk day or book character parties. Another librarian replied with more programming ideas for older elementary school aged children such as a Lego club. A children's librarian keeping track of this webpage will find it conducive for keeping up with her industry in general. It is highly recommended for public and school librarians. http://www.ala.org/alsc/… (more)
