really liked it
bookshelves: audio, crime, mystery, thriller, full-cast

Many disappointed reviews for this one over here on GR.
I was on an absolute True Crime Cast of Actors Audio kick this week, so this was actually very very good for me.

We are at an opening of a luxury retreat style hotel in Dorset. We know that something terrible happened, people died, there was a massive fire and there were birds.

The story goes back and forth, using journals from the past, first person accounts in the past and present, there is some mysterious magical elements, and some Blair Witch vibes (because woods) and some new age woo woo jargon rounding off the atmosphere nicely.

I didn't mind the birds. And i liked how the stories from the past and present intertwined and provided the resolution for so many wrongs and justice for lots of local folks. Again, highly recommended for those of you who enjoy True Crime full cast of characters.
I might make a new shelf just for these!
