it was amazing

This book is a little different than the others I have read in the Sunrise Cove series; those tend to have more of a quirky small town/neighbors vibe, and there are several recurring characters and familiar places. I didn’t recognize these characters from past books, and it was a slightly different type of story….but different in a VERY good way.

Central to this story is a mystery - a mystery of stolen coins/jewelry, and whether or not the main character’s father was the thief. Anna’s father recently passed away after struggling with an illness that he also kept from his daughters, so they are questioning what they knew about him. Anna’s sister Wendy is home bound and pregnant with triplets…and a relative of the woman missing the jewels shows up asking for Anna’s help in finding them.

I like that the characters don’t take things too seriously - there is a lot of sarcasm and joking in the dialogue. I also loved the bond between the sisters, and that even through their struggles, their love is apparent. And the connection between Anna and Owen is undeniable.

I didn’t want to put this one down - I loved the story, and the characters.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley; all opinions are my own.
