3.5 Stars — A young couple move into an old fixer upper in the remote Pacific Northwest woods. All is well until a former resident shows up at the door with his family in tow, wanting to come in and take a look around. What happens when they won't leave? The premise of this horror story is intriguing, and the first half of the book had me sleeping with a nightlight on. So creepy!

I'm conflicted over the ending though. I understand what the author was getting at, but there were too many loose ends and unanswered questions to be really satisfying. Moral of the story: Don't be a people pleaser.
