it was amazing
bookshelves: 2018-releases, novella, pirates-sci-fi, read-in-2018

Am I capable of giving anything written by Emily Skrutskie less than five stars? I guess not.

This little shor story, and I mean little (it's 18 pages long), was an absolute pleasure to read. We follow a younger Swift to get a more insight perspective into her life growing up and how she met Santa Elena and got to be part of her crew.

I love Swift. I've mentioned this in all of my reviews for this duology so I missed her tremendously. I loved getting the chance to see her at a more vulnerable state and getting a glimpse into what she might have turned into had the circumstances been different.

Objectively, this was 18 pages long so there isn't much susbtance to this story but I love this characters, I love this world, I love this plot and I love Emily's writing so much that I can't bring myself to give this anythig less than 5 stars.

Do I think it's necessary to read this to get a full picture of The Abyss Surrounds Us duology? No, I don't. But I do strongly recommend checking it out if, like me, you wished you could spend just a little longer in this ruthless world.
