I love pizza. My husband and I have had home-made pizza every Friday for about 15 years. We have designed two trips we took all around eating pizza. Reading this book was just perfect.
The first chapter is 'Soul of a Pizza' where you learn about pizza in Italy in various areas starting with Naples then you move onto the US and how pizza is different in various areas. From there, you have chapters on pizza styles (American thin, square, etc), the crust, needed equipment and ingredients, methods, and finally, pizza recipes.
There are a lot of recipes for dough, sauces, and various kinds of pizza. There are gorgeous, mouth watering pics. Now, there is not a picture for every single recipe but in this case, I'm fine with it. The book itself is so detailed and contains wonderful information about pizza and descriptions, I didn't need a pic every single time.
I did get this book from NetGalley for a fair and honest review. I just wished I owned this book as I could see myself using this one over and over again. If you are a pizza lover, I suggest you pick this one up as soon as possible. You will not be disappointed.

Trying to work my way through all this books and just grabbed this one. I'm not into space but figured what the heck. Immediately I was laughing so hard. I would rewind it and listen again just to laugh. Not a horror read, but a fun story about a bunch of rednecks trying to launch a rocket into space. The audio was great. I will read this one again, when I need a good laugh. Now patiently waiting for his 2025 read. In the meantime, I'll just remember Redneck NASA!...more

I could start all over again. I was a bit rusty on my Huck Finn, having read so long ago, but it did not impact this read. I grabbed my book and considered a refresher now. Went into this one with no expectations and left an Everett fan. I've since grabbed a few of his earlier books and can't wait to start. Though this one will be in my mind for days....more

Made me want to start baking immediately. I'm a HUGE fan of the Great British Baking Show and this story seemed to be weaved around the competition. Each chapter was named after food, typically a baked product. Buddy read with Dana and we both enjoyed it and it hit the foodie mark. However, It just seemed a bit forced on the other story line, didn't seem that elegant in how it was weaved in. Decent audio narration. Overall, a good read....more

Dark, disturbing read. The title is one that pulls you in. While the story also pulls you in, it can also creep you out. The ending went a bit odd for me and I felt something was missing. I went back and forth between print and audio. A buddy read with Dana and we both were both a bit unsettled after reading it. The author has a new book coming out and I'll read her again. Just hope the subject matter is quite different....more

I've read all of Mandel's books and it's not the first time there were linked characters. I enjoyed this one even through I didn't find any good qualities in any of the characters. I wanted to hear more, I couldn't stop. The story is about four friends, part of the Lola Quartet, and how their lives are changed, intertwined, and how they have grown over the years. Many not for the better. I'm glad I finally read this one, but now I have no books remaining by Mandel to read. Guess I'll have to start them all over again....more
