Do I start from the beginning? Well, I was and still am pumped for this book, for this series. It's a great series and although Susan Ee planned for it to be a 5 book series, it ended up being just 3 books, and this is the final one.
I'm sad that there won't be any more books coming from this series but I'd sure as hell love to read some other book Ee releases in the future. I'm quite sure, it's going to be amazing.
Her short sentences, and dialogues are amazing and despite my not liking dialogues all that much, she brings them on nicely and definitely adds to the amazing-ness of the story.
So, final chapter. Is it a happily ever after or is it a disastrous ever after? You'll have to read to find out.
If you're a fan, a shipper, of Penryn and Raffe then you'll probably love this book. It's the only book in the trilogy where we get some action between these two. Things get heated. Hot and bothered.
The book was gripping, it didn't let me go. I couldn't even get myself to leave the book aside and go pee. Yup. That's gripping to me. Uhm, there was action, constant action, and that's what I mainly love about this series. It's a dystopia, it has angels and it involves some drool-worthy action.
While Penryn has always been a badass, I think she's more confident in this one, she's more decisive. She becomes a leader. Raffe, okay, he's the tough type and while some authors get the whole attitude wrong, Ee did him justice, balancing the tough facade and his real self.
I only wish that after the final battle scene, the ending of the book would have laster a little while longer so I could have said my goodbyes more properly. Oh, and yes your eyes didn't trick you, there is a battle scene and I'm telling you this because it'll make you that much more anxious throughout the book....more
Shit, shit, shit, shit. This was superawesomesaucy. I don't even know what to praise. For starters, the storyline and action! So much action, it's fulShit, shit, shit, shit. This was superawesomesaucy. I don't even know what to praise. For starters, the storyline and action! So much action, it's fully action-packed. Next one, the characters, oh holy hell, they are all so perfect and tortured. I loved even the villain, okay.
This book refuses to be categorized in just a genre. It's ya, sci-fi, dystopia, of course, but it's also an adventure and the narrative sometimes tends to become a little horror-y. It's post-apocalyptic and it's romantic. It's everything I wished it would be. I wish there were more books like it.
The Waves are breath-taking. I don't understand how Mr. Yancey came up with the plan for this story and how he visualized the Waves. But the way they were narrated, the way the characters made reference to them makes me incredibly curious to get insight into the backstory.
The author has a tendency towards badass-ery, which doesn't bother me at all. Each and every character has a vibe that is just so intense and inspires you in every way to be like them.
The book is mainly told from Cassie's & Ben's P.O.V's and I just love them both.. Cassie for her strength and her refusal to give up, she just won't and Ben because he's been through hell, he's lost everyone and despite that he is still smiling. And well, Sammy, oh he's the perfect little human, he is just 5 years old and he was being trained to become a soldier, I mean what the heck that just broke me down. It was cruelty in its highest form. Sammy is what I'd call a character who adds hope in the most bleak situation. He's the reason why Cassie fights and later on why Ben fights.
Most of all, I love Evan. His, is the hardest choice of all. He's decided to side against his very own species. He refuses to be just an alien. He's both. He's alien and he's human. Evan must have been the most complex character for Mr. Yancey to write because he's got many sides and he's unpredictable most of the time. But he's also very loving and he is not ashamed of his feelings. He just outs and opens his heart. I want Evan's P.O.V in the next book, I want to get inside his head.
As I'm certain you all know they movie is in production. I love the casting. I absolutely love Chloe Moretz and I'm sure she's going to do Cassie justice and I find both Alex Roe perfect for Evan and Nick Robinson perfectly fitting for Ben's role. But okay most of all, I love Zackary Arthur's casting as Sammy. He's just a cutie pie.
I mean, look at him. You just want to squeeze these cute little cheeks of his.

There were so many quotes and this book was just so deep. It brings out all the feelings of a dystopia, of a post-apocalyptic event. Hate, Love, Despair, Denial, Torture, Confusion, Doubt.
"I am human and I'm not. I'm neither and I'm both. I am Other and I am you."
“I am a shark, Cassie," he says slowly, drawing the words out, as if he might be speaking to me for the last time. Looking into my eyes with tears in his, as if he's seeing me for the last time. "A shark who dreamed he was a man.”
I'd love to dive right into the next book but I won't because then I'll be left with nothing to read until the 3rd book is out....more

A very dynamic ya dystopia centered on the angels destroying the human world. I had never thought about a mixed-up dystopic background with angels before and I must admit that the results are epic.
The book starts off with action and ends in action which is one thing I love about dystopias, generally. Susan Ee created a world that's quick to warm up to and welcomed to the imagination. It's a world dominated by angels who came to eradicate humanity. The book starts off two months after all these have began. What I would have honestly liked would be if there was some kind of background picture. I would have loved to see how it all started and get a little bit of background information.
I love the characters. Like really, really love. There is the female protagonist, Penryn, who's badass and all girl power and you can't help but love her. She's a fighter and she is the kind of person who'd go to the end of the earth in order to protect those she loves.
And then there is Raffe. Who you think is kind of an ass at first, mainly because he's an angel (the entire killing humans at sight is kind of hard to ignore). But you'll love him too and you'll definitely feel for him. (And you'll definitely want him and Penryn to have cute little babies).
There are many surprising details in this that I do not want to delve into so as to avoid spoiling you but it's definitely worth reading and there are some pretty breathtaking twists and big-ass cliffhangers. ...more
I had high hopes of this book. And I'm sure it was because 'Angelfall' was pretty much perfect. I can only say that this exceeded my expectations and I had high hopes of this book. And I'm sure it was because 'Angelfall' was pretty much perfect. I can only say that this exceeded my expectations and it was even better than the first novel in the series.
Ms. Ee topped herself. 'World After' was fast-paced and full of twists and turns and I didn't even realize how fast I finished the book. It pulled me right in and then I just couldn't get out.
This woman knows how to write. The flow of her books is perfect, not too fast and not too slow and she always cuts to the chase rather than delve into useless details. We got to see a little bit of Raffe's feelings and how he sees Penryn (thanks to Pooky Bear).
Despite the fact that Raffe wasn't around until the last 100 pages of the book, the romance had evolved amazingly. They didn't kiss, but there is that sparks that Ee put there to torture us.
As expected there were huge revelations and some unexpected turns in the end of the book and Ms. Ee left us hanging once more.
I'm now looking forward to reading the next book in the series with much eagerness. Ms. Ee said that she plans for a May 2015 release which means we are months and months away from book 3.. I'll be waiting....more
