There's intrigue, there's mysteries, there's an incredible cast of new characters intertwined with old favorites, and spicy hot sex scenes. My only complaint is having to wait for the next one because I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT....more

It's Urban Fantasy with a voodoo / hoodoo element and just a touch of slow burn romance that I cannot WAIT to see play out. Complex and complicated family relations, so many secrets that I wanted to smack people for holding, and a heroine that I could both root for and relate to while still be so frustrated by (mostly because I was deeply invested in her journey).
This was such a darn good book and I can't wait for book 2!...more

This time it's the brother of book one's hero, Nick. Perfect planner, has his goals and always meets them Nick. I just loved seeing his careful plans all fall apart and his realization that sometimes the unplanned things are the best things. Dani was a great heroine - strong and smart and a great vet, and while she might have a few key flaws that give her and Nick a struggle, it was wonderful seeing a heroine who really valued herself and wasn't willing to settle for anything less than she deseved. I can't wait to see who's next!...more

I will say, whatever you think you're going to get going into it, you're probably wrong. It was an easy read, incredibly moving at parts, and it made ever single person written in it more human... excepting the obvious villains of the press. And considering how inhumanely they've treated members of the royal family, that's not surprising. I still remember how horrified I was when I found out that they sat there, taking pictures of Diana as she died rather than calling for help or doing anything to help. I've always wondered if she'd still be alive today if any one of them had a shred of human decency.
This is a very open book, about very tough subjects, and also very revealing. It's entertaining, sometimes sad, sometimes happy, and in the end, an extremely insightful piece of work into the humanity of a group of people who are often treated as and viewed as entertainment rather than people....more

Tasha has been such an amazing character from the beginning and I loved seeing her all grown up and getting her HEA! This book has everything we love about M&M books - spies, action, badass women, bossy men, hot kink, and shrewdly crude advice from everyone's favorite fairy godmother. Watching Ian's daughters falling in love is definitely going to be a highlight of the New Recruits, but I'm just as invested in everyone else and I know I'm going to be re-reading this one while I wait for the next!...more

I was so excited for West to get a story and it did NOT disappoint. One of my favorite things about Lexi Blake is her heroines. I love that they're often people I think I have nothing in common with and then she does such an amazing job of not just getting me to root for them, but also showing me what we DO have in common. It's especially wonderful when she takes the kind of person that is easily villained and de-humanized in our society and reminds us that there is a real person there - like a reality tv star like Ally.
I floved everything about this book. The chemistry between West and Ally is off the charts, and somehow the story is even better. ...more
