Sweet lawd, the rumor mill can run, let 'em say what they will, but Malcolm Saint is the sweetest kind of Sinner, the kind of man, who by the right woman can be brought to his knees.
Rachel Livingston has one goal...to get in deep enough with Saint, then to expose the #manwhore he is in an Expose for the Chicago magazine Edge. Saint is a private, unattainable man, yet something draws him to Rachel, something even he didn't expect. He grants the first interview, and when she shows up in paint laden coveralls he's intrigued by her quirky, nervous nature. So another interview, more time together...it all spirals into what? A sexcapade? Love? Well, Saint doesn't kiss and tell, and neither do I. You'll have to one click this MUST READ to find out for yourself how their story turns out...does Saint remain the elusive playboy of Chicago, set in his #manwhore ways? Or does he submit to Rachel, gaining the love he never knew he wanted, yet truly needed?
Malcolm, oh wow...I LOVED Malcolm. Something about the way Katy Evans writes an alpha male...they're always so protective, controlling and sexy as sin. Malcolm was PERFECT, yes, I went there. Even Callan and Tahoe were sexy. Tahoe continually making me laugh. Rachel Livingston...I just can't with her. She's young, but I swear she never says the right things. I know, Malcolm made her weak in the knees, clouded her mind from all clear thinking, but she spoke like a 16 year old girl losing her virginity for the first time, every time she was around Malcolm. Her friend Gina, equally annoying. Gina actually needs to find a hobby- I don't know, reading, knitting, maybe a house full of cats is what she needs? She had the worst possible attitude, constantly comparing Saint to an ex-lover who crushed her soul, yet she wasn't even willing to get to know Saint to see who he really was. She only wanted to listen to the tabloids, the gossip. Wynn was a sweetheart, a girl with a vibrant spirit...she was honest and understanding of Rachel's plight. While Gina was too concerned with breaking her down, being a negative Nelly in the worst, in your face fashion, Wynn wanted to help Rachel resolve the situation she worked herself into. The characters were all very easy to connect with, Saint and his boys purely lovable, and although Rachel needed a good shaking, she was likable.
Sentence structure was something that truly annoyed me with this book...how many times does AND need to be in one sentence when a comma would suffice? Some of the sentences were choppy, which interrupted the flow of the story. And how do you brush your hair behind your forehead? REALLY? No, I'm not being picky, just genuinely expressing what aspects of the book that I thought needed work.
Overall #manwhore is a solid 4 star must read because Malcolm Saint is the sinner we all need to meet. Katy Evans is an alpha creator, enough said. ...more

Braydon, a single father who's recovering from the loss of his wife is the story teller. His mother has convinced him that it's time to move on, allowing love back into his heart. Being a single dad and operator of a prestigious hotel, having a mother figure in Cody's life would certainly make things simpler, and a companion to mend his heart is just icing on the cake. So his mother sets him up on a blind date with a her friend's daughter.
Annie is the complete polar opposite to Braydon's quiet and reserved personality. She's vibrant, boisterous and despite the heart ache of her past, she strives to fill each day with beauty and happiness. The date goes well, and an instant connection is made. Through the next few weeks their relationship builds. Annie seems to be just the woman for Braydon and little Cody. But in all relationships upsets happen, fraying the edges of perfection, no matter how hard we all may try. Does Braydon and Annie have the love and strength the need to help each other recover?
New Year is a light read, very sweet and endearing. Braydon was a bit quiet for my liking, but he is a very sincere and gentle man. Annie....geeze I loved Annie!! She had just the right amount of spunk, the perfect contrast of brightness for Braydon's grey personality. Cody was the most adorable 4 year old, very sweet and all boy. New Year is very well written with a simple, yet natural to the story. Very enjoyable read. ...more

Usually, if a book is recommended to me that's third person POV or I purchase one and open it to see that it is, I DNF then. Generally speaking, third person POV isn't emotional or personal enough for me to connect with the characters.
Having said that, I'm so glad that I gave Malevolent the fighting chance. This book did NOT disappoint in any way, whatsoever! Malevolent has so many twists and turns, you'll get whiplash just swiping your finger gently across the Kindle screen. This story is deep, well thought out with amazingly likable characters. There is so much happening in this book, that reading it from one or two first person POV wouldn't have given the reader a clear insight to the depth of the story. I felt as if there was some dark shadow lurking about, watching the citizens of Durham Heights closely, commentating the scene before him as he saw it from his very eyes. I didn't feel as if I was being told a story, as with most third person books. The way Cassia narrated the book, gave the reader and fresh and vivid sight to every thing happening. I felt as if I was peering over the dark shadowed narrator's shoulder, watching the residents carry on through the story.
I was awestruck by the suspense. I LOVE romantic suspense novels, and not once did I have an inkling as to what would happen next. Cassia keeps you truly blinded by the truth right up til the very end, where you're mouth will drop, your eye will bulge and several obscenities will slide from your tongue. Shock and awe doesn't serve this book justice! Completely blown away with the tumbleweeds, crawling at the dirt beneath you to get back to your sanity- YES...now that's more like it!
Brady James-swoooooooon! I swear I could just read Darlin' and Sugar and be putty in that man's hands. He is so perfect, all Alpha, sexy and controlling in the sexiest and sweetest ways! His job as Sheriff is to serve and protect, and let's just say that little ole' Gywn Woods sure is one lucky little darlin'!
Cassia, you perfected your debut novel! I simply cannot wait for more! ...more
