Her monster romances are such a cozy, fun escape for me, and “The Monster’s Desire” is no different!
With this being the third book in the series, we’re already rather familiar with Nadia. Unlike book two, this book picks up with little time break, meaning we don’t spend a good part of the book rehashing what already happened previously.
Nadia, our FMC, must go to a neighboring sanctuary town to help them with an emergency. Very shortly after arriving, she realizes that things are not as they seem. Unlike her hometown of Haven, this new sanctuary town is hiding many secrets.
Over time, Nadia becomes connected to Echo, vampire, and Ridge, alpha wolf. These men, while very different from one another, were so hot! Both are such dominant, alpha males and had such hot scenes. One of my favorite micro tropes is FMC + shifter male + vampire male, and this was done so well. Not long after that, we meet Knight and Wraith, two demons. Needless to say, Nadia had her hands full with this group.
Unlike the other books in the series, I would actually say that this book is more plot than spice. If you’re looking for raunchy smut, you’ll have to be quite patient.
Smut aside, still a fantastic novel with some fun characters. I hope we get more monster romance from West in the future!...more

“Triads Curse” is about a human woman, Cali, who ends up unknowingly sacrificing herself to give her family a better life. Once taken from earth, she ends up on another plane where she’s assigned a group of men (hence the term: triad) to be their Boost. A Boost is, in other words, their own personal blood bank.
At this point, you’re probably wondering if this is just another vampire reverse harem. If you’re thinking that, you’d be completely wrong as this is even better. The three men are called Legions, and while they live in a dying plane, they’re absolutely not demons. Part of their life means that they need powerful blood to grow powerful themselves. Cali is the most powerful Boost that they’ve seen in a while, and the story that ensues is Cali navigating her feelings for these three men, while slowly realizing that not everything in this deal is as it seems. Of course, this is also a bully romance, so you can expect that not all members of the triad are welcoming to the idea of human blood.
This book has so many of my favorite tropes, all with a side of organic harem building. I flew through book one and I can’t wait to start seeing teasers for book two. While I can’t stand reading unfinished series, I actually look forward to revisiting this world in the future, and I can’t wait to see how Cali makes the men grovel in book two. ...more

Compared to the previous 2, this one moves at a much quicker pace and isn’t bogged down by unnecessary detail. I loved how the harem became more developed and that Cain wasn’t as much of an outside as he has been throughout the series. Unfortunately, I’m beginning to dislike Sin, but I’m hoping he’ll come around soon. I typically love the comedic relief characters but with him in particular I just don’t like how volatile he is. ...more
I’m genuinely so confused as to why this book has so many 4 and 5 star ratings…. I want this review visible, not hidden behind a spoiler tag, so here I’m genuinely so confused as to why this book has so many 4 and 5 star ratings…. I want this review visible, not hidden behind a spoiler tag, so here is what you can expect in this book:
- kidnapping - non-con - 20+ year age gap where the MMC frequently refers to the female as “little girl” - an attempt to force an unwilling omega into heat - multiple mentions of forcibly impregnating an unwilling partner
None of this is “dark romance”, and it’s disgusting that some would classify this as such. Having sex with someone who is sleeping is not dark, it’s disgusting and there’s literally no consent?? Having sex with said omega, with the hopes of forcibly impregnating her so that your rival can’t claim her isn’t dark, it’s disgusting and isn’t something I want to read about.
I read omegaverse because I enjoy the dynamics of ABO packs and the character development. Relationships in omegaverse shouldn’t be forced and it shouldn’t involve noncon sex (the only exception I can think of is if it’s previously discussed as something both parties would be into- but even then I err on the side of “yeah let’s not”) with a woman who you’ve kidnapped.
I typically can’t start a series without finishing it, but I won’t be reading anything more in this series. Too bad the villain gets the girl in the end....more
