I'd like to say I hate talking about myself, but that would be a lie. I don't mind in the least. Will it be interesting? Meh, probably not.

Let's see, I write suspense, comedy, paranormal, horror and erotic horror fiction. Basically all the dark fiction.

Another Year Bites the Dust

Well kids, we made it through another year ripped from a horrific sci-fi novel. How you doing?

To be honest, I’m not sure how I’m doing. Okay, I think. My writing has declined, but I’m not at a stand-still, so that’s good, right? I’m taking more “me” time to preserve a bit of balance in my brain. It’s been a lot of ups and downs, a few trips to the left and right, and some near collisions, but we’r

“I’m 100% certain of the quality of story I’m writing until I finish the outline and actually begin to write. At this point, I’m 100% certain the story sucks and I will never show it to another living soul. Until I type “THE END.” At this point, I’m 50% certain it sucks, 50% certain it’s brilliant, and 100% certain if I don’t show it to someone I will spontaneously combust.”

“Your memory is a monster; you forget—it doesn't. It simply files things away. It keeps things for you, or hides things from you—and summons them to your recall with will of its own. You think you have a memory; but it has you!”

John Irving, A Widow for One Year

“Did you ever want to set someone's head on fire, just to see what it looked like? Did you ever stand in the street and think to yourself, I could make that nun go blind just by giving her a kiss? Did you ever lay out plans for stitching babies and stray cats into a Perfect New Human? Did you ever stand naked surrounded by people who want your gleaming sperm, squirting frankincense, soma and testosterone from every pore? If so, then you're the bastard who stole my drugs Friday night. And I'll find you. Oh, yes.”

Actually I just finished Just After Sunset. I haven't gotten around to posting a review. My schedule that I was so proud of recently has been ripped to shreds. I really liked it. Some stories weren't to my taste, but most were. I think they were all classic King though, which I love.

Hi sharon, sorry I didn't reply right away. Apparently one needs to check her profile now and then. Thanks for the request, I look forward to more from you as well. As for my posts, I do try to make them interesting, if not always the most thought provoking.

Thanks for asking. I hope to get new stuff up in my writing soon, edit what is there and such. But it's all new to you, right.

I'm going to try to read more often again, so I'll be posting soon. I have strange taste, I'll warn you now. But horror is a favorite.

Lavinia Ludlow Hi Rene, I am glad to hear your enjoy dark humor. It's very particular, and not too many people like it, or they may take the joke too seriously and be offended or something.

thanks for the add!

message 18: by Renee

Renee And nice meeting you too. Thanks for the friend invite. I noticed on your profile that you like dark humor, which I love.

You'll find a lot of humor in the Fiction group, though not really dark. More sarcastic and silly.

message 17: by Lavinia

Lavinia Ludlow Nice meeting you!

message 16: by Renee

Renee Yes, it is but I still have some kids here, other than mine. One mom didn't get the holiday because she's on shift.
We're going camping next weekend (sat. night) and we won't be back until Wednesday sometime. I am looking forward to just chilling out, doing some editing and some writing. And maybe just a little drinking. You know, by the campfire, a good bottle of wine or a nice cold beer. Yes I need a break.

message 15: by Ali

Ali Of course!

I hope you have a great day with the kids...is it a holiday in Tweed a well?

message 14: by Renee

Renee I haven't had a chance to read very much. Hopefully when the kids go home tonight, then I'll message you tomorrow with my thoughts. Is that okay?

message 13: by Ali

Ali Hi Renee!

I hope you're having a great long weekend?!

I am on page 39 of. 'The Future of Man: Extinction or Glory?' and will continue reading for a bit this morning...please let me know where you're at with it and post a comment, if you have one yet?

:)

message 12: by Renee

Renee I'm fabulous now that I've gotten rid of my nasty headache. He went to work. Ba-dum-bum!

Nah, the kids aren't too bad, the rain is off and on today so they've been to the park and now they're messing up my basement.

message 11: by Ali

How are you today?

:)

message 10: by Renee

message 5: by Ilyn

Ilyn Ross Hello Renee,

How are you? Thank you for accepting my friend-request. I wish you all the best. Good fortune on your books.

Please visit these groups when you have a chance: Happy & Brainy Group, To the Glory of Man, Reason Reigns, and Goodreads Tea Party. Have a marvelous week. Warmest regards.

message 4: by Renee

Renee Thanks David, I'll look them up this weekend. It snowed for the first part of this week. I don't know what we did to piss off the heavens like this but I know we won't do it again.
It's sunny and warm now, so let's hope that's the last of it. Once the last bit of snow melts I don't want to see anymore.
I've got lots of reading to do, but I'm going to check out Shan's books. You should read The Crown Conspiracty by Michael Sullivan. I've just started it today and I love it. If you liked Lord of the Rings and such you'll enjoy it.

message 3: by David

David Try Darren Shan's books. I've some from the series I've just read on my library. A little short but there's 12 books to read and it is a good tale. How's Canada. UK's a little hit and miss with weather but it's starting to brighten up

David
