Abigail is the teen author behind The Halcyon Epics and the poetry book Scrawled Out Timeline. Her mission is to write God-glorifying fiction that compellingly uplifts Biblical themes and promotes divine Truth through heart-pounding stories so lives can be transformed by the Gospel’s message of hope and inspiration. When she isn't writing the next epic fantasy book, you can find her reading her favorite books, hanging out with friends, being a gym rat, obsessively drawing, or serving her church.

Abigail is the founder of the social movement #ProtectCleanFiction, which aims to inspire and change the bookish culture around sexuality in books by providing a loving, thriving community of clean book lovers and educating others about the dangers

I don't think I handle it in the typical way some writers do, I try to give myself grace by taking a break. I don't try to write through it like most people suggest. I think that's quite foolish, to be honest, your mind is trying to say. "Hey, you've pushed me too far, take a break, go live some life, and come back to me." And you know what, it works! Take a day, a week, a month off, and just live, not worry about how many words you're writing. The inspiration and will come again, trust me, I know it's scary, it almost feels like giving up, but it's not. Writers are artists, not machines, we cannot expect constant inspiration and quality. I believe stepping back and being gracious to yourself goes a long way in getting the drive and love back for writing. (less)
