Celebrations: valentine vases {pink & glittery}

Do you decorate for Valentine’s Day? I usually don’t go all out but a little splash of red or pink  is always fun.

I found this bead garland in the Christmas clearance aisle. It was so ridiculously pink and glittery I had to have it for Valentine’s Day.

I unstrung the beads and used them to decorate a few plain vases.

For this vase, I glued the pink matte beads around the rim.

This vase had a rim, so I strung the glitter beads on a piece of wire and wrapped it under the rim.

I have very few flowers in the garden right now but I was able to scrounge up a few pink Camellias and some Jasmine for the small vase.

I still have a lot of beads left, but for now, I think this is enough pink.

Thanks for visiting.

Etceteras: pink berry wreath

I couldn’t resist these stems of pink berries from the dollar store.

I usually go with the “less-is-more” rule but in this case I went with the “more, more, more rule” and layered the clusters of berries all around the wreath.

I added a few of the leaves that came with the berries and this pink berry wreath is ready to hang.

A quick and easy project that adds a pop of pink to this room.

The Inspiration Board: bright pink flowers

I’ve been craving bright colors lately. Maybe it’s the gloomy weather or post holiday color overload or a natural progression into Valentine’s projects.

To set the tone, I decided I needed a new inspiration board.

Instead of magazine photos or online photos I created bright flowers. Each flower has a bud, a partially opened flower and a full bloom. The flowers are made out of cardstock and glued onto a fabric covered matte. The leaves are real camellia leaves stuck on with double-sided tape so they can be replaced and freshened.

Even on the gloomiest day, these flowers will be brighten up my workspace.

The Inspiration Board: in the pink

Happy Labor Day. Wishing everyone a wonderful day off – if you’re lucky enough to have the day off.
I’m stepping away from the computer today – well, at least for a little while (ok – I’ll only check it periodically).  In the meantime, here’s a new pink inspiration board.

And, my new happy geranium cutting that I “borrowed” on a recent walk.
Enjoy your day.
