The Nintendo 64, commonly addreviated as the N64, is a home video game console released by Nintendo in Japan on June 23, 1996, in North America on September 29, 1996, and in Europe and Australia on March 1, 1997. It is the successor of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and the predecessor of the Nintendo GameCube. The console also had a disk drive add on called the Nintendo 64DD and released exclusively in Japan on December 13, 1999. Only one main Kirby game was made for it, although Super Smash Bros., a game that also features Kirby as a playable character, is a Nintendo 64 game as well.
