Kirby's Anniversary is an event that is held annually around April 27, in commemoration of the release of Kirby's Dream Land, the first game in the Kirby series and the debut of Kirby as a character. Milestone anniversaries, typically occurring every five years, often involve major celebrations for a longer period of time, including events, promotions, and game launches.
Kirby 20th Anniversary (2012)[edit]
- The compilation game Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition was released on July 19, 2012 in Japan and September 16, 2012 in North America. It features the first six main-series Kirby games and contains a large array of bonus features.
- The encyclopedia book 20th Anniversary Kirby Pupupu Encyclopedia was released on August 8, 2012 exclusively in Japan. It features all sorts of Kirby content from the games, anime, and manga.

Kirby 25th Anniversary (2017–2018)[edit]
- The Kirby JP Twitter was launched as the Kirby 25th Anniversary Twitter. Multiple commemorative illustrations were released celebrating this anniversary.
- The Kirby Portal website was created.
- The Kirby 25th Anniversary Orchestra Concert was held.
- Team Kirby Clash Deluxe, Kirby's Blowout Blast, and Kirby Battle Royale were all released as part of the anniversary.
- Kirby Star Allies was released just before the anniversary ended.[1]
- A post was made in the Kirby: Planet Robobot Staff Room Miiverse community for Kirby's birthday.[2] A password for Team Kirby Clash Deluxe was revealed in commemoration.
- Qbby, the protagonist of HAL Laboratory's much more recent BOXBOY! series, celebrated his coinciding "2.5th Anniversary".[3] A password for Team Kirby Clash Deluxe was revealed in commemoration.
- As an April Fools' Day prank in 2018, the official Kirby website was briefly replaced with a celebration of Waddle Dee 25th Anniversary.
- The Kirby Art & Style Collection artbook was released on November 2, 2017 in Japan,[4] and was later localized to English and released in other regions on April 14, 2020[5].

Kirby 30th Anniversary (2022–2023)[edit]
- The Kirby Portal opened a minisite for the series' 30th anniversary in early 2022.
- The Kirby JP Twitter changed its icon to reflect the anniversary.
- Kirby and the Forgotten Land was released during the series' 30th anniversary, with Kirby's Dream Buffet following soon after.
- Starting from April 1st, 2022, Kirby Café locations started serving some commemorative dishes, with many including souvenirs themed after the anniversary.
- Like in previous years, the Kirby JP Twitter released a commemorative illustration to celebrate the anniversary.
- Commemorative posts were made on both Twitter and the Nintendo Switch News Channel which revealed Present Codes for Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
- Volume 8 of It's Kirby Time, called Kirby's Birthday, was released on April 25th, aligning closely with the day of Kirby's 30th Anniversary.
- A deluxe stand-alone Kirby novel called Kirby: Lor Starcutter and a Magician of Falsehood was published in Japanese on the day of the 30th anniversary (April 27th, 2022). It came in a hardcover format, featured commentary from Shinya Kumazaki at the end of the book, and was an adaptation of Kirby's Return to Dream Land.
- The Kirby 30th Anniversary Music Festival happened on August 11th, 2022.
- Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, a remake of Kirby's Return to Dream Land, was announced in 2022, and was subsequently released on February 24th, 2023.
- Two iterations of a 30th anniversary pop-up store opened in Seoul, South Korea, the first between July 29th and August 28th of 2022, and the second between February 17th and March 2nd of 2023, coinciding with the release of Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe.
- Kirby: Right Back at Ya! received a special Japan-only Blu-ray release called the Kirby of the Stars HD Remastered Edition All-Round Complete Box in March 2023. It features all episodes remastered in HD, including the Kirby of the Stars Pilot and Kirby 3D, as well as a plethora of bonus content.

Minor anniversaries[edit]
Since its inception during Kirby 25th Anniversary, the Kirby JP Twitter has released annual commemorative illustrations of Kirby's birthday parties. The series's 26th anniversary marked the rebranding of both the Twitter account and the Kirby Portal website away from celebrations of the 25th anniversary and toward a broader depiction of the franchise. A password for Team Kirby Clash Deluxe was also revealed in commemoration. The 28th and 29th anniversaries were commemorated with passwords for Super Kirby Clash, with the former revealing one in CoroCoro.
