Setia City Mall is a shopping mall in Setia Alam, Selangor. The mall was developed by SP Setia Berhad and Lendlease as a joint venture.[1]
History
[edit]It began construction in January 2011 by S P Setia and Lendlease's Asian Retail Investment Fund (ARIF).[2] Then it opened in May 2011. It also became popular and it's the biggest mall in Shah Alam. In 2019, the mall began expansion and opened entirely to visitors in March 2021.[3] [4]

[edit]Setia City Park is a 10.5 acre park. It is also close to the mall and has a playground.

[edit]2025 shooting
[edit]On 8 February 2025, a shooting occurred at the mall on 10.50pm, with a gunman suspect has shooting a janitor with 8 shots fired. The Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain told Bernama that initial investigations that the suspect, a man in his 30s was in an influence of drugs that time. "However the real motive has (yet to be determined)," he said after accompanying Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil to the 60th anniversary of Silat Cekak Pusaka Hanafi celebrations at Wisma Radio RTM here today. The officer said the Selangor police, with assistance from the Bukit Aman police, were starting investigations on the incident at 10:50 pm. Earlier that day, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the suspect had a criminal record with 11 criminal and drug-related offences. "Police said the suspect shot 8 bullets."[5]
The victim manage to flee away inside the center for help, while the suspect escaped to P2. The suspect fired at a staircase window and a sliding door on Level P2 before fleeing. The suspect hijacked a Perodua Ativa from a visitor at gunpoint, the driver got forced to drive to the highway to Shah Alam. To this day, the suspect in his 30s is still in Selangor.[6][7]
It also however blow up in social media with eyewitnesses talking about their experience and is even in the news.[8][9]
