Renard U. Johnson (born July 28, 1966)[1] is an American politician currently serving as Mayor of El Paso. He is the first black mayor of El Paso.[2]

Johnson is a local businessman.[3] He is the founder of METI Inc, a professional services company.[4] He has a 40 year career in the federal contracting business.[5]

Johnson grew up on the northeast side of El Paso and graduated from Andress High School and the University of Texas at El Paso in 1994.[6] His brother is businessman Timothy Johnson.[7]
