The Shield Killer, also known as the Shield Snatcher in Mother 3, is a reusable battle item introduced in EarthBound. In EarthBound it can repaired from the Broken pipe and is only be used by Jeff. In Mother 3 any party member can use it.
It is the successor to the PSI ability Shield-Off from EarthBound Beginnings.
Usage
When used in battle, it will remove the Shield or PSI Shield of the enemy. In Mother 3 it also removes Counters and PSI Counters in addition to shields. In EarthBound the Shield Killer has a miss rate of luck/80 while in Mother 3 Shield Snatcher always succeeds.
In EarthBound the Squatter Demon and Electro Specter are capable of using the Shield Killer. In Mother 3 the Masked Man can use it, when used by him it is referred to by its EarthBound name the Shield Killer.
