Aeson the Fallen is the former king of the Baersonlings, a tribe of Norsca, who had mutated into a massive Mutalith Vortex Beast during the End Times. A Mutalith is a Chaos beast comprised of grasping tentacles, a great vortex of magical energies and which is afflicted by an ever-creeping insanity.[1a]
Aeson remembered only enough of his former life as a mortal man to follow his former tribesmen into battle. As Aeson lumbered forward, the swirling portal of Chaos energies upon his back ushered madness and death upon his friends and foes alike.
Aeson cared not. He smelt the blood of the slain, dimly remembering the frenzies to which it drove him. Aeson would have wept for what he had lost, were he any longer capable of comprehending how far he had fallen.[1a]
