Summary
Elephants are the largest land mammals on Earth, they are members of the family Elephantidae and the order Proboscidea.
Elephants are herbivorous and can be found in different habitats including savannahs, forests, deserts, and marshes. Despite being herbivores, these animals alongside the rhinoceros and the hippopotamus, are one of the most aggressive animals when provoked.
Powers and Stats
Tier: 9-B, higher via piercing damage
Name: Loxodonta africana, Loxodonta cyclotis, Elephas maximus
Origin: The Real World
Gender: Male or female
Age: They can live up to 70 years old, an elephant becomes an adult by the age of 9
Classification: Mammalia, Herbivore animal, large mammal
Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Large Size (Type 0; Male elephants can grow up to 4 meters in height), Enhanced Senses (They can hear infrasonic up to 12,000 hz and can recognize voices from a kilometer away, they can identify over 30 different smells and sense water from 12 miles away), Natural Weaponry (Tusks and Trunk)
Attack Potency: Wall level (They can bring down trees by tackling them,[1] flip trucks, cars and hippopotamus. Adults, especially Bulls, can kill lions, crocodiles, hyenas, and other land carnivores with minimal effort. Frequently dominate rhinos in one-on-one confrontations and have even killed rhinos.[2] By far the physically strongest land animal and has no natural predators as an adult, though calves are hunted by Lions, Hyenas, and Crocodiles. Full-speed tackles from African bush elephants can release over 125,000 joules at the very least. Rampaging elephants can destroy small homes and push down walls. Elephants were historically used to crush people to death as a form of execution in India and Sri Lanka. Can trade blows with other elephants and break each other's tusks[3]), higher via piercing damage (Fight each other with their tusks[3])
Speed: Peak Human (They can't technically "run", just walk fast, but they can still charge at speeds of 11 m/s)
Lifting Strength: Class 10 (Can flip over trucks and cars and push back other large animals and other elephants that are of comparable weight.[2][4] Can lift 770 lb with their trunk[5])
Striking Strength: Wall level
Durability: Wall level (They can survive their own tackles unharmed and tackles from other animals like hippos and rhinos.[6] Should be more durable than the latter.[2] Can withstand pushing each other's heads at full force even without tusks[7][4][Note 1][Note 2])
Stamina: Superhuman (Their rampages can last for hours and one was able to try looking for help after getting a sniper bullet shot in its head)
Range: Extended Melee Range
Standard Equipment: Its trunk and its tusks
Intelligence: High Animalistic. One of the most intelligent animals and is one of the few that are confirmed to be self-aware; they are able to realize what they are and reflect on their being to an extent. They can understand human body language to a degree and can remember companions after years of separation. Able to recognize themselves in a mirror. Capable of picking locks. Can be trained to play instruments. Recent studies show they are able to use name-like calls to identify and call others of their kind.
Weaknesses: Due to their immense size, they often break bones simply by tripping and falling over.
Note:
- ↑ Stronger skulls from them being made up of thicker, &/or denser bones in animals are more likely to absorb energy unharmed. This is true in cases like the Pachycephalosaurus & the Hippopotamus
- ↑ See the explanations section.
Explanations
Skull Durability: The skull is up to 6 inches thick in some areas, spreading out & creating arches at the back, & being strong enough to withstand the force of the elephant's head's weight & force of their trunk.[7] Despite having natural sinuses (or honeycomb spaces) that make the skull lighter,[7] an elephant's skull can weigh over 400 kg.[8] The context of a strong skull & high surface area of an elephant results in 2 tuskless elephants being able to withstand a full head-to-head charge from each other from significantly reduced pressure.[4]
