Summary

When he was young, Drake Mallard looked up to comic book heroes and often wished he had the courage to stand up to bullies. On the night of his senior prom, he got his chance. When his classmate Elmo Sputterspark, the rat who would go on to be known as the super-villain Megavolt, attacked the dance with his newfound electrical abilities, Drake donned a mask left over from a theater production and defeated Megavolt, marking his first ever adventure as the costumed crime fighter Darkwing Duck. Darkwing achieved real fame when he took down St. Canard's kingpin of crime, Taurus Bulba, adopting the grandaughter of one of Bulba's victims, Gosalyn Waddlemeyer.

Now, with his daughter, best friend and sidekick Launchpad McQuack, sorceress girlfriend Morgana Macawber, and Gosalyn's best friend Honker Muddlefoot, Darkwing Duck keeps the citizens of St. Canard safe from crime.

Name: Drake Mallard, Darkwing Duck

Origin: DuckTales

Gender: Male

Classification: Toon Duck, Superhero, Freelance Agent, Data Accounts Networking Officer for "Quackwerks"

Powers and Abilities:

Attack Potency: Multi-City Block level+ (He can trade blows with foes around his level)

Speed: Relativistic+ travel and combat speed (He jumped all the way to the moon and did several laps around in before crashing down to Earth. He is able to disappear at the speed of a camera flash. He can dodge shots from a particle accelerator)

Lifting Strength: Class P (He can produce this much force by jumping to the moon)

Striking Strength: Multi-City Block level+

Durability: Multi-City Block level+ (He can take hits from a 240 Gigawatt Laser Cannon[Note 1]. He is covered in ash but otherwise undamaged from a fire blast from Comet Guy that incinerated a building he was in)

Stamina: Superhuman (Fifty-three fights in one night, one of which involved an army of zombies, is considered a "slow" patrol evening for him. He endured twenty-four hours of chanting random spells in front of a crowd on stage. He was able to swim the channel twice while wearing a straightjacket. He is able to take an absurd amount of physical abuse and still be ready for more)

Range: Below Standard Melee Range, Tens of Meters with weapons, Planetary via jumping

Standard Equipment: Darkwing Costume, Gas Gun, Grappling Hook, Cufflinks, Rat Catcher Motorcycle

  • Hammerspace Items: Gatling gun, machine gun, Shotgun, Jungle Cutter, Thing Cutter, axes, machetes, knives, hedge clippers, chainsaw, weed whacker, missiles, grenades, bazooka, dynamite, bombs, banana bomb, exploding bone, mallet, clubs, slingshot, anvils, blowgun, blowtorch, hypnotism device, Sonic Pitch Device, infrared goggles, crime-sensing watch, night-vision goggles, x-ray goggles, Infra-Pink Ultra Scanner, magnet gun, Glue Bomb, Industrial Weed Killer
  • Optional Equipment: Thunderquack, Hoverquack Assault Chair

Intelligence: Extraordinary Genius (While his arrogance and ego can get in the way of his common sense from time to time, Darkwing has repeatedly showcased that he is capable of feats as a detective, inventor, and combatant that are extremely exceptional. When his daughter was turned into a plant hybrid, he created a cure that would return her to normal. He was able to create a computer program that could transfer "1 zillion megablips" of information. He is capable of making all of his weaponry including a potent hypnotism device, a magnet gun, and all the weaponry with his Gas Gun. Darkwing is a master of constructing things, even while under pressure with minimal resources. He was able to construct a functioning tank out of random junk and a catapult from coconut trees. DW possesses impressive quick-thinking skills, such as when he combined his cape and his gun to save others, ripped out the pages of a book to block a vacuum, discovered the weakness of a vine by identifying doglike traits in it, used his cape to set off sprinklers in order to escape bindings, used just a spotlight and a magnifying glass to escape his capture, distracted his enemy by kissing him and caused him to defeat himself, and used cement to defeat a living water-based villain. He also possesses rather impressive detective skills. From a distance, he was able to discern the exact make and function of a bomb. Despite just missing the hideout out of range of his eyesight, he correctly deduces where it is just by looking at a crumb of bread. Using clues, he correctly deduces the exact tool used to kidnap someone. He can deduce where someone will strike next purely based on their smell. In terms of combat skill, he is surprisingly proficient. He is a black belt in Quack-Fu and is capable of combat maneuvers he made himself. Using only his sense of hearing, he can fight while blind. He learned mental powers after training with monks and knows several contortionist techniques. He can also casually dodge projectiles while hopping through tires and even from a particle accelerator at a rapid pace), higher under the Particle Accelerator's influence (While under the effects of a Particle Accelerator, Darkwing enrolled in university, majoring in molecular biology and chemical engineering, and creates both an antidote for super-speed and rapid aging, as well as a "slow-motion potion" that turns Negaduck into a living statue)

Weaknesses: Arrogant and egotistical

Note: The Dynamite Comics run by Amanda Deibert is the only series considered to be canon, taking place in the existing world as we know it, and has been thoroughly approved by Disney.
