William Afton, also known as Spring Bonnie and later known as Springtrap and Scraptrap, is the titular main antagonist of the FNAF Minecraft animation series Afton by 3A Display.
He is the co-founder of Fazbear Entertainment who developed the company with the help of his friend and colleague, Henry Emily. However, despite being a successful businessman, William was also a serial killer who killed many children, causing the children's souls to possess the animatronics created by William and Henry. William's actions ultimately led to the deaths of his two children, Elizabeth Afton and Michael Afton. Determined to revive Michael, William kills more children, causing the children's vengeful souls to attack William and turn him into a monster who tries to kill the same person he once tried to revived.
He is the father of Alex Afton, Elizabeth Afton, and Michael Afton, with the latter being his archenemy. He is also the former best friend of Henry Emily and the master of Molten Freddy, Scrap Baby (Elizabeth), and Lefty.
At the end of Bringing Us Home, he was voiced by Kyotosomo.
Biography[]
Backstory[]
Little is known about William's past, other than that he met an unnamed woman who would later become his wife. After getting married, the two of them had three children, namely the eldest son, Alex Afton, the only daughter, Elizabeth Afton, and the youngest son, Michael Afton. For unknown reasons, William's wife is never seen with him and his children, either because she died or divorcing William.
Some time later, William formed a partnership with a genius man named Henry Emily and together they founded Fazbear Entertainment by establishing four restaurants, namely Fredbear's Family Diner, Circus Baby's Pizza World, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, and Freddy Fazbear's JR. Their partnership yielded profitable results and they soon became successful businessmen. However, for unknown reasons, William developed a murderous streak in him and became obsessed with killing children in the restaurants he and Henry founded.
Part 1 : Bringing Us Home[]
William is seen with his partner, Henry Emily, at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. When Henry is caught off guard by the children playing, William uses this opportunity to lure five children into the room, where he immediately kills all of them and accidentally causes their souls to possess five animatronics, Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie the Bunny, Chica the Chicken, Foxy the Pirate Fox, and Golden Freddy. Freddy Fazbear's Pizza later shut down after the murder. At night, at his other restaurant, Circus Baby's Pizza World, William devises another plan to kill children, namely by using the main mascot named Circus Baby to pull a child into her, killing the child instantly. The next day, several children visited Circus Baby's Pizza World, including William's daughter, Elizabeth Afton. When Elizabeth wanted to approach the Circus Baby, William prevent her and told her daughter not to approach the animatronic. Despite being told by her father, Elizabeth still approached Circus Baby, just as Circus Baby's claws opened in front of her. Elizabeth's younger brother, Michael Afton, saw his older sister approaching Circus Baby and alerted William. However, it was too late because Baby's claws immediately pulled Elizabeth into the animatronic, killing her instantly. William tries to save his daughter, but fails, leaving William to cry over his daughter's death.
The next day, William visits a dying Michael in the hospital after his head got bitten by Fredbear after his older brother, Alex Afton, and his friends bullied him. Unfortunately, Michael lost his life and died. This makes William vow to put Michael back together, even if as a robot, causing him to fall deeper into his villainy.
Part 2 : It's Me[]
William took Michael's body to his basement and experimented with the remnants he got from killing four other children in Freddy Fazbear's JR. to revive Michael. However, due to the remnants were still inadequate, William decided to target one more child: Charlotte Emily. William met Charlotte who was with her father, Henry, and invited her to come with him. Despite Charlotte's hesitation, Henry asked Charlotte to obey William. When Charlotte was off guard, William immediately grabbed and threw the girl out of the restaurant. William then took out a knife and even though he was hesitant to kill Charlotte, William still killed her and took her remnant. William then left Charlotte's body outside the pizzeria and returned home. However, unbeknownst to William, Charlotte's soul accidentally possessed an animatronic called The Puppet. The Puppet then unleashes the souls of the four children that William had killed, causing them possess the Toy Animatronics.
At home, William combined Charlotte's remnants with the remnants of the other four children and immediately used them on Michael. Knowing that Henry would stop him after he killed his daughter, William decided to kill Henry before he could stop him. William found Henry crying over his daughter's death and immediately took out a knife. Henry, who realized that William was going to kill him, immediately ran away from him, with William, who didn't want Henry to run away, immediately chasing him. During the chase, The Puppet realized William's presence and ordered Mangle to attack William. However, because William disappeared in the crowd, Mangle mistook a guard named Jeremy Fitzgerald for William, causing Mangle to attack Jeremy and immediately bite his frontal lube. Outside the restaurant, William tries to kill Henry with a knife. Luckily for Henry, he managed to fend off against William's attack and escape with his car. Due to the Jeremy Fitzgerald's incident, Freddy Fazbear's JR. closed and William was arrested by the police for serial murder. Luckily for William, the mixed remnants of Charlotte and the four children's remnants managed to revive Michael, waking him up in his basement.
William was eventually imprisoned for serial child murder and attempted to kill Henry. However, in prison, William collected some scrap metal and turned it into a bomb. William hid the bomb under a cafeteria table until the time was right to escape.
Part 3 : Five Nights at Freddy's 1 Song[]
The next morning, feeling that it was a right time to escape, William immediately took out the bomb he had build and immediately threw it at the wall, causing a large hole that William used to escape. William then hijacked a police car and fled with it. Before returning home, William decides to destroy all five animatronics at the now-closed Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Upon arrival at the restaurant, William lured Freddy and immediately destroyed him with a crowbar. One by one the animatronics were destroyed by William, leaving their bodies scattered across the hall.
But unfortunately for William, his actions caused the souls of the five children to be freed from their animatronic bodies and immediately cornered William. William tries to attack them using a crowbar, but doesn't work because they can't be hurt. When the souls attack aimlessly, William sees the Spring Bonnie suit and immediately puts it on to protect himself. Thinking that the souls couldn't attack him now, William laughed and mocked the souls. Golden Freddy's soul saw water droplets leaking from the roof and immediately destroyed the roof, causing more water droplets to enter the room. One of the water droplets accidentally turns the springlock bolt, activating the springlock and crushing William's body. William, who was crushed and in pain, could only give in to the pain before he finally fell unconscious while sitting. The five souls managed to be free and flew into the sky, being watched by The Puppet before leaving the scene.
Part 4 : Daddy's Little Monsters[]
When the newly revived Michael checks his house, he sees the news on TV regarding his father's arrest for serial child murder and attempting to kill a co-worker, leaving Michael to be shocked.
Part 5 : Replay Your Nightmare[]
30 years later, after being left to rot and merge with his Spring Bonnie suit, William is found by a group of young men who want to take him to a horror attraction called Fazbear's Frights, where William will become the main horror attraction and is given a new name: Springtrap. When two workers put Springtrap in the storage room, Springtrap suddenly activates again and jumpscares the two workers. Then without mercy, Springtrap violently and quickly killed the two workers and put their bodies in the locker. After killing both workers, Springtrap sits on the floor motionless.
When an adult Michael enters Fazbear's Frights to destroy it, he accidentally wakes Springtrap, causing the curious animatronic to look for the person who entered Fazbear's Frights. After Michael successfully drives away the Phantom Animatronics, Springtrap appears in front of him and tries to kill him. Luckily, Michael managed to dodge Springtrap's attack and leads him to another part of Fazbear's Frights. Springtrap watches in shock as Michael destroys the pipes that causes a gas leak. After threatening Springtrap, Michael throws a lighter at the gas, causing a large explosion that burns Fazbear's Frights. Michael managed to escape the burning attraction. Inside, Springtrap is attacked by souls who were possessing the Toy Animatronics, destroying most of his body parts and even severing his left hand. Luckily for Springtrap, he managed to escape from the burning building and angrily stares at Michael who managed to survive. Most likely, while walking on the street, Springtrap encounters the other animatronics, namely Scrap Baby (possessed by his own daughter, Elizabeth), Molten Freddy (a combined form of the Funtime Animatronics), and Lefty (an animatronic bear who has The Puppet inside of her). Springtrap somehow manages to dominate them all and become their master, changing his name to Scraptrap and planning to kill Michael.
Scraptrap and his subordinates then stalk Michael who is unaware of their presence. Michael then stops when he sees an ad about building his own pizzeria. This motivates Michael to create his own pizzeria to destroy the remaining animatronics, especially Scraptrap.
Part 6 : Going Back[]
In his plan to kill Michael, Scraptrap orders his subordinates to pretend to be inactive so Michael can take them in to be salvaged. This plan worked with Michael taking them into the restaurant for salvage and leaving them in the salvage room. When Michael goes to his office, the Scrap Animatronics reactivate themselves. Scratrap, in an explosive rage, orders his subordinates to find and kill Michael, even though Henry has burned the pizzeria. Unfortunately, the Scrap Animatronics fail to kill Michael with Molten Freddy and Scrap Baby being defeated by Michael, allowing their souls (including Elizabeth's soul) to be free from their animatronic bodies, while Lefty forgets Scraptrap's order after seeing Henry and decides to kill Henry and herself, freeing Charlotte's soul and reuniting her with her father who also became a soul.
Seeing that his subordinates were unsuccessful in killing Michael, Scraptrap decided to intervene and look for Michael. After walking through the fire, Scraptrap notices movement in the vent and immediately pulls the vent, revealing Michael who has fallen in front of him. Seeing his target right in front of him, Scraptrap with sadistic pleasure tries to kill his own son. Scraptrap tried to kill Michael several times, but Michael always managed to fight back and even used Scraptrap's left hand bone to stab him in the chest. While they were fighting, the roof plank came off and was about to hit them. After Michael convinces his father to let them die so their souls can rest, William nods in tears. The plank eventually hits both of them, freeing Michael's soul who reunited with his older sister, Elizabeth, as well Henry and Charlotte. The four of them then flew into the sky before disappearing into heaven.
It is unknown what happened to William's soul after he died. However, it is very likely that his soul fell into hell and was tormented by Golden Freddy's soul who had a huge grudge against him, giving William the punishment he rightfully deserved.
Appearance[]
As William Afton, he has fair skin and black hair, and purple eyes. He also wear black pants, black shoes and wears a white shirt with a magenta neck tie but he covers it by wearing a black suit with magenta lines at the sleeves seen near his hands. He sometimes wears a black hat on his head. He also has the same hair style as his son youngest, Michael Afton. When wearing the Spring Bonnie suit, he is a yellow animatronic rabbit suit.
As Springtrap, he is a tattered, formerly yellow springlock animatronic rabbit with olive green tints, notably on his stomach and ear insides. Like with the Withered Animatronics from FNaF 2, Springtrap appears to be in heavy disrepair, evident by the multiple tears throughout his body and wires poking out of his arms and legs. He has one black button on his chest. Furthermore, Springtrap contains several pieces of human innards wrapped around his body.
As Scraptrap, he is an olive green animatronic rabbit with holes and tears all over his body. He has a peculiarly large skull with brown lips and sharp teeth, flesh in-between the holes and joints, and one arm missing while exposing a strangely sharp and pointy bone. He has one black button.
Personality[]
Like most versions of William Afton, this version of William is a sadistic, cold-blooded, and ruthless killer who has no remorse for his crimes. William is shown as a deft killer who quickly kills his victims without wasting time. He has no qualms about killing people, seen when he had no hesitation in trying to kill Henry, despite Henry was his best friend. William also often attacks his enemies brutally, shown when he brutally crushes Freddy and his friends with a crowbar. William is shown to be somewhat careless, as he does not realize that the Springlock suit can activate when exposed to water, causing his body to be crushed when the soul of one of his victims uses the water leak to activate the springlock, leaving William to be tortured and dying half-dead.
After becoming an animatronic, William became more brutal and merciless, because he without thinking twice immediately killed the two workers who brought him. He also frequently orders his men around, as seen when he loudly orders the Scrap Animatronics to enter the pizzeria and kill Michael. Also, although his initial motive was to bring Michael back to life, William somehow wanted to kill him 30 years later, perhaps because he blamed Michael's death for his transformation and had also left him to rot and burn for 30 years.
Even though he is a very sadistic killer, William really cares about his children, because when Elizabeth was pulled by Circus Baby, William tried to get her out of the animatronic. Another example of his love for his other children was when he tried to revive Michael by killing more children and taking their remains, although he later antagonized Michael and also tried to kill him. Although William is often shown to have no hesitation in his murders, he shows hesitation when attempting to kill Charlotte Emily (perhaps because Charlotte was his best friend's daughter). William is also a genius, as he created most of the animatronics in the restaurants. He can also capable of making a bomb out of scrap metal, allowing him to escape from prison.
