Maynard Crossfield, also known as The Ringmaster, is the main antagonist of the 2021 Marvel based fanfilm Mordo and The Circus. He is the ruthless leader of The Circus and a terrorist warlord who secretly also serves The Order of Fenris in return for world domination. He is also The Jester's boss and the top leader of The Circus Clowns.

He is portrayed by Colin Firth.

History[]

Maynard Crossfield as a young boy has always dreamt of becoming a powerful boss and a very rich man. One day when he grew up, he was offered by two former humans and galactic supreme leaders called Andrea and Andreas Von Strucker to serve as their secret associate and call himself The Ringmaster as a super-villainous terrorist as in return he shall become a god like being after using an Asguardian crystal with ultimate powers which are stronger than the hero crystal. In order to achieve his plans, he had to kidnap and sabotage lost children whom he eventually turned into his employees and slaves inside the circus.

During the events of the movie, The Ringmaster and his henchmen Deckard Aston were getting ready for the show in which Sara Wolfe would be forced to use a stolen Asguardian crystal in order to kill everyone and then reshape the world for The Ringmaster, according to Andrea and Andreas' plans.

However, Mordo overpowered The Ringmaster and helped Sara escape the circus, it's ringmaster and it's ruthless Jester.

Afterwards, The Jester tried to bring Sara back to the circus for The Ringmaster, and also to capture Mysterio as part of The RIngmaster's plans. However, The Jester and his clowns have ultimately failed on their mission. The RIngmaster then goes to see Mr. Boggs, an agent of HYDRA who operates along with Jasper Sitwell. He is ordered by the two HYDRA agents to finish his task.

The RIngmaster calls The Jester for a discussion about their strategy. The mad Jester questions Crossfield's plans and asks him why he doesn't just kill Sara and Mysterio, as The Jester is also secretly plotting to take over The Ringmaster's position.

The Ringmaster however threatens that if The Jester does plan to betray him or if he fails again to capture Sara without killing her, he will be tortured in his own chamber, which apparently, The Ringmaster also knows how to use it.

The Jester out of need for survival and as part of his plan to overthrow The Ringmaster later on pretends to agree. However, he does attempt to kill Mordo, Sara and Mysterio, just before he is confronted by Mysterio, who avenges his father who was previously killed by the Jester, and he creates three knives which kill the Jester for good. However, unexpectedly, Deckard Aston sabotages Mysterio and brings him to the chamber where The Ringmaster tortures him. However, Mordo and Sara invade the circus and kill all the clowns as well as Aston. They eventually release Mysterio from his death trap and they confront Maynard Crossfield. The Ringmaster then reveals that he works for The Order of Fenris, lead by both Andrea and Andreas Von Strucker. He is then killed off by Mordo's powers just before his employees are all set free and Mordo prepares to fight against The Order of Fenris.
