Your ungrateful granddaughter did this to me. You'll know it. I'LL GET HER FOR THIS!!!!!!!
~ Louis swearing revenge on Ellie for having Irwin Goldman testify against him.
Well, while I was leaving, I noticed that Ellie was invited to a party at Fort Greene Park, and although her grandfather pressed charges against me, he did so on Ellie's behalf. So, as soon as I made my way in, you go and abduct the partygoers. And as you are doing so, take as many people with you as you can. It doesn't matter how old someone is when you take them.
~ Louis explaining his plan to the Red Triangle Circus Gang

Louis Creed originated as the main protagonist of the 1983 book Pet Sematary. He appears in Nightmares of the Pet Sematary as the main antagonist.

He used to be a doctor until he was arrested for digging up his son's grave. He is the father-in-law of Irwin Goldman and the estranged father of Ellie Creed-Trayson.

Biography[]

Nightmares of the Pet Sematary[]

Arrest and incarceration[]

After the events of the novel, Louis had gotten out of the house, but was arrested for digging up Gage's grave. He was put on trial for it, as it progressed, his father-in-law, Irwin Goldman, testified against him. Louis was found guilty, and swore revenge on Ellie for having her grandfather testify against him. 12 years later, he killed his cellmate, then attempted to escape, but was tasered by one of the prison guards, and was sent to spend the rest of his prison sentence at ADX Florence Supermax. While in prison, he had the Red Triangle Circus Gang attack various New York homes through a walkie-talkie. Louis would be released 72 hours later.

Post-release from prison[]

Louis went on to rob a convenience store, then, with a pair of bolt cutters that he got ahold of after he left the prison grounds. He left the scene in his black 1965 Ford Mustang, intent on continuing his plan.

Reuniting with Ellie[]

At her apartment, Louis sat next to his daughter in her bedroom, and he revealed to Ellie that when he buried Church, Gage, and Rachel, he only did so to mentally heal her, and chastised her for her role in his arrest. Louis then called out the Red Triangle Circus Gang, and they arrived at the apartment, resulting in Irwin's death and Ellie's back getting broken by The Tattooed Strongman.

A new plan[]

It's a price to pay for some pieces of the plan.
~ Louis Creed after killing The Poodle Lady, implying that he had Ellie's back broken to prevent her from interfering her plan.

At Louis's lair, he explained his plan to crash the banquet, only for The Poodle Lady to question it. As a result, Louis shoots her dead, and enacts the plan. After crashing the banquet, Louis ordered the rest of the Red Triangle Circus Gang to capture the partygoers. As the cops were on their way, The Thin Clown informed Louis that they were arriving, only for him to tell his subordinate that he already anticipated it. As the children were freed and the gang arrested. Louis retreated back to his lair, where unknown to him, Ellie and Brandon followed him.

Underground battle and death[]

Louis Creed: Im...impossible. I cannot be beaten. I wanted to show you and your grandfather how rotten you were to have me locked away. But I now realize that revenge won't solve all my issues.

Ellie Creed-Trayson: There is an alternative way that your issues would have been resolved by simply accepting the deaths of Mom and Gage. But you chose to ignore that in favor of your usage of the MicMac burial grounds.
Louis Creed: I gotta say you speak the truth. I wanted to get them back because I missed your mother and brother. But I know now that the idea of resurrection using the MicMac burial grounds was wrong. In the end, as my dark thoughts have clouded my beliefs, all I am is a loaded pile of nothing.

~ Ellie and Louis's last conversation before the latter's death.

After Ellie arrived in the lair, she told Louis to show himself, which he responded by firing his pistol at her. He then teared up with remorse for what he did 20 years earlier, but Ellie fired a tommygun at Louis, and the two engaged in a fierce fight until Ellie, using the same scalpel that Gage used to kill Jud, slashed Louis across the chest, fatally wounding him. Before he died, Louis told Ellie that as his dark thoughts clouded his beliefs, he is a loaded pile of nothing. With that, Irwin Goldman is avenged, and with no parents left, Ellie is now an orphan. After his death, Ellie remembered the time when her father helped her with her bruise, showing that there is still good in Louis.

Personality[]

Originally, Louis was a kind man who cared for his family. After being found guilty, he became aggressive and vengeful, but, in his final moments, showed that he still loved and cared for Ellie
