~ The Thieves before being spotted by Lila. |
The Thieves, consisting of Fat Thief and Thin Thief, are supporting antagonists in the webseries Spooky Month.
They are a pair of dimwitted thieves who attempt to rob Lila's house in order to get something they describe as "The Stuff", but they get spotted by Skid and get arrested later on, serving a jail sentence. They also work for The Cult in some capacity.
Thin Thief is voiced by Coffinjockey (who also voiced the Candy Dealer), while Fat Thief is voiced by Kellen Goff (who also voiced Roy in the same show, Diavolo in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Kai Chisaki in My Hero Academia, Freddy Fazbear in Five Nights at Freddy's, Fiddlesticks in League of Legends, and Zagred in Black Clover).
Personality[]
As in a common trope for most pieces of fiction, the Thieves are two dimwitted and clumsy criminals, although the thin one seems to be more sensible and smart, being able to more actively see problems and try and avoid them. The Fat Thief on the other hand, seems more silly and excitable, happily exclaiming that it's Spooky Month and being easily frightened by Skid. He also seems to discuss non-sensical stuff, causing the Thin Thief to dislike him for his unserious nature.
Biography[]
Spooky Month: The Stars[]
The thieves first appear sneaking through Skid's house, with them being scared by the kid initially after seeing him in the dark until they shine a light on him and realise that he's a child. Skid questions what they're doing in his house, but simply guesses that it's because it's spooky month, making the Fat Thief dance happily. Skid leaves but Lila, having been woken up by their noise, turns on the lights and spots them, calling the police with Jack and John arresting them later in the episode.
In the true Newgrounds ending of the episode, the two thieves witness the tentacles coming out of the House on the Hill, with John remarking that there are strange things going on in town, with the Fat Thief asking if he's talking about spooky month. Jack, hearing that it's spooky month, dances excitedly and looses control of the car, running over Ooga Booga in the process. Fortunately, all four men are unharmed and the thieves are locked up in jail.
Spooky Month: Deadly Smiles[]
The two thieves are first seen in their cell, now wearing pillowcases in place of their balaclavas and prison uniforms, with the Fat Thief discussing a presumably nonsensical math question. They see the Happy Fella opening their cell door and are terrified when they see he has a knife, embracing each other and crying as the murderous doll approaches. Fortunately, Jack arrives causing the doll to play dead, saving them as he confiscates the doll and locks them up again, telling them to take off the pillowcases they're wearing off their heads. The Fat Thief remarks that the doll wasn't so bad, to which the Thin Thief angrily smothers him with a pillow.
Spooky Month: Tender Treats[]
The two thieves had been mentioned in the newspaper when Mayor Evermore tell Jack and John about Bob Velseb and they escaped together.
Spooky Month: Hollow Sorrows[]
The two thieves, having inexplicably been released from prison, make a reappearance in this episode where they attempt to burgle Lila's house, only for a giant spider to attack them in the attic. The two try to escape as the alarm goes off, but Lila wakes up and beats them to a pulp before throwing them outside.
Later on, it's revealed that the thieves have been hired by the Cult to search for something in Lila's house. After reporting their failure to the Candy Dealer, the Cultists leave while the Candy Dealer warns the two to be more careful as they're running out of luck.
