Primordus, the Elder Dragon of Fire and Conflagration, is a minor antagonist in Guild Wars, serving as a minor antagonist of the "Living World Season 3", one of the main antagonists (alongside Bangar Ruinbringer and Jormag) of the story season "The Icebrood Saga" in Guild Wars 2 and the overarching antagonist of the expansion pack End of Dragons.
Biography[]
Primordus was born as the scion of the Elder Dragon Soo-Won. Initially mindless like the others, Primordus would seldom venture out unlike his siblings, remaining in the warms of Soo-Won's tail. But he and his siblings all eventually developed their own personality and fascinations and left Soo-Won for the world, becoming hostile to their siblings and mother.
Primordus was the first Elder Dragon to awaken in modern Tyria. During the events of Guild Wars, its resting place was an undeground cave, where it had been mistaken by the asura to be simply a highly potent magical statue, making it the perfect place to build a central travel hub around it. Primordus was originally supposed to awake in 1078 AE, but the defeat of its most powerful general, The Great Destroyer, delayed its awakening by several generations. During the events of original Guild Wars 2, Primordus is largely inactive, however, it becames a rising threat with the events of "Living World Season 3".
Appearance[]
The appearance of Primordus has drastically changed between the event of Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2, since 250 years had passed. In Guild Wars, Primordus had been mistaken for a statue created in the dragon's likeness, as it had a relatively sleek body, with a magic energy emanating from it. In Guild Wars 2, only a part of its head could be seen at the bottom of a massive volcano, with lava flowing through its jaw.
