~ Glutko encountering Link. |
Glutko is one of the secondary antagonists in Link: The Faces of Evil, and a dimwitted, gigantic cyclops with a massive appetite. He resides in the region of the same name, which is a mountainous Face of Evil carved in his likeness. He guards the Face's eye, which leads to the Shrine of Koridai. Within it lies the Book of Koridai, which Link needs in order to defeat Ganon.
Biography[]
Link visits the region of Glutko, a Face of Evil that is home to the gluttonous monster of the same name. On his way to Glutko, he runs into a helpful civilian named Droolik who imparts this bit of wisdom onto him: "Don't fight him, feed him! Something spicy, know what I mean?" While not immediately obvious, it's a hint at Glutko's weakness: bombs. Later on, Glutko can be seen engaging in his favorite hobby: eating Koridians, who he swallows alive with ravenous glee.
Upon crossing paths with the hideous beast, Glutko is thrilled to see Link and immediately tries to eat him next. But he's defeated almost instantly, courtesy of a bomb thrown into his open mouth. Realizing that he's doomed, he can only let out a worried cry of "Uh oh!" before being blown to smithereens and opening the path to the Shrine of Koridai.
Somehow, Glutko immediately returns for round 2 and tries to kill Link again, only to be defeated in the exact same way as before. With Glutko gone for good, Link claims the Book of Koridai for himself and continues on his way.
Appearance[]
Glutko is a morbidly obese green-skinned giant with a cyclopean eye. He has yellow nails, large pink lips and canine teeth.
Personality[]
Glutko is a gluttonous, simple-minded brute whose only goal in life is to eat as many people as he can. He's shown greedily snacking on Koridians that he's had captured, and is excited to dine on Link once he shows up for a fight. While he's loyal to Ganon, he's perfectly willing to eat his troops if his "Tastes like a Daira!" comment is of any indication.
