Beauty is a twenty-four hour job, we can't just look like a normal girl. We have to behave like a normal girl, believe we're a normal girl. A normal girl can do, anything!
~ The Exo-Skin talking to Jenny.

The Exo-Skin, or also known as Ragged Android, was an invention and supporting antagonist in the Nickelodeon TV show My Life as a Teenage Robot. It made its first appearance in the episode "Raggedy Android" as a prototype. It later returned in "The Return of Raggedy Android" as the main antagonist.

It is voiced by Grey DeLisle, who is known for voicing Vicky in The Fairly OddParents, Azula in Avatar: The Last Airbender, the High Priestess in Samurai Jack and Mandy in The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy.

Biography[]

Origins[]

Prototype[]

Dr. Nora Wakeman made the exo-skin for her Jenny/XJ-9 in the episode "Raggedy Android" to make her look more human to the people of Tremorton. Even though the prototype was used rarely, Jenny wanted to use it again. Unfortunately, the prototype wasn't as successful as Jenny expected as it scared people. As a result, Mrs. Wakeman made some modifications to the suit later on.

Final Edition[]

Exoskin

Jenny uses the skin again in "The Return of Raggedy Android" now with new modifications to hit on Don Prima at Mezmer's. It completely transformed her into a beautiful human girl. Unfortunately, the exo-skin reveals itself to have a mind of its own and becomes very vicious as it attaches to Jenny, almost leaving her without any chance of escaping from its grasp. Thankfully, Jenny is able to free herself from its control by pouring a milkshake on it. After a short fight, she supposedly kills the exo-skin. Although, after Jenny and the other teenagers leave, the exo-skin latches onto Mezmer.

The exo-skin did not appear for the rest of the series as Mezmer briefly returns in "Labor Day". It is unknown what happen to the exo-skin and how Mezmer managed to free himself from it.

Trivia[]

  • It is also similar to the Mask of the Beast from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy as both are possessors and are voiced by Grey DeLisle.
  • The Exo-Skin would have appeared in an episode called "Raggedy Android 3", but was scrapped for being too dark.
  • The Exo-Skin share similarities with the Marvel Character: Venom
    • Both are possessors.
    • Both tried to control the Main Protagonists: Exo-Skin for Jenny Wakeman, Venom for Peter Parker.
