Stephanie Lake is a scientist working for Derek Powers and a minor antagonist in Batman Beyond.
Biography[]
Stephanie was hired by Derek Powers to help him with his radioactive radiation. She suggests that she could clone him a new body with a baseline DNA. Stephanie decided to test it on Mr. Freeze, whose DNA was also destroyed by mutation. It appeared Stephanie and Fries were beginning a relationship, though she was really monitoring him for the success rate of his revival.
Ultimately, Freeze finds that his new body is starting to fail. As a result, Lake tries to kill him and assures Powers that Freeze will not come for them but Freeze escaped and put on a new suit of freeze armor. He attacks her and Powers, freezing the latter and cornering her. Scared for her life, she lies by telling him that they were trying to help him. Unfortunately, Freeze does not believe her lies and Stephanie ends up getting frozen solid by Freeze. It is implied that she dies as a result.
