~ Anne deciding to adopt Domino 2. |
Domino 2 is a a supporting character in the Disney Channel animated series Amphibia. She is a an alpha Coastal "Kill-a-moth" (formerly "Kill-a-pillar") and an Amphibivore that devours frogs. She was initially adopted by Anne Boonchuy because of her resemblance to her pet cat, Domino, until attempting to devour the Plantar family. In Season 3, after being reunited with Anne, she would be convinced by their past relationship to help her and the Wartwood Resistance battle King Andrias and the Core.
Appearance[]
Domino 2 has six legs, two large yellow eyes, black hair, and white stripes on her body and breast at the larval kill-a-pillar stage. She also resembles Anne's beloved cat Domino in appearance.
When she matures and changes into an adult, she resembles a cat-moth hybrid, growing in size and taking on the head and legs of a white cat as well as the body and wings of a monarch butterfly. She also has two tongues: a regular tongue and a slender, green tongue laced with sharp spikes. She also has rows of pale-yellow teeth, big red eyes, and two tongues.
She is a little bit bigger than she was in "The Beginning of the End," when both Anne and Sasha could ride on her back. She temporarily wears a mind-controlling collar at the Frobot headquarters during the same episode, turning her eyes a luminous purple tint.
She was able to carry Anne, as well as Anne's parents, with ease in "All In."
Personality[]
When a Kill-a-pillar is present, Domino 2 behaves like the majority of cats—playful, adorable, and attention-seeking. She is seen as a very adorable creature by Anne, who continues to adore her as she matures into an adult. In her adult stage, Domino 2 is still lively and drawn to the mouse toy Anne used to divert her attention from eating the Plantars, but she is more aggressive toward Amphibians, presumably because she is hungry for Amphibians in her diet.
Despite originally still being possessive of her progeny, she has displayed a more empathetic side in "Fight or Flight."
Domino 2 is entirely submissive and more vigilant to dangers or disruptions when wearing the collar at the Frobot camp, such as Anne and Sprig attempting to take off her collar. She has memories of Anne, the ability to tell when Anne is distressed, and even has preserved her former toy in her breast fur after being liberated from its influence. As an alpha moth, she can now tell an amphibian from food and has gained power over the other moths. She will utilize this power to aid her pack in escaping the Frobot base and eventually lead them to join the Resistance.
Biography[]
Season 1[]
She first appeared in "Domino Effect" after Anne and Sprig saved her from some giant wasps. Anne quickly takes a liking to her because she reminds her of Anne's cat Domino. Anne decides to adopt her and name her Domino 2, but had to sneak her into the house because of Hop Pop not allowing any pets. For a few days, Anne and Domino 2 were having fun without Hop Pop noticing a thing, but one day Domino 2 wrapped itself in a chrysalis and went to sleep. When Hop Pop finds out about Domino 2, Sprig tries to explain how she looked like Anne's pet cat, but when it's mentioned that she was black with white spots, Hop Pop quickly recognizes her species as a Kill-a-Pillar, one of the most dangerous creatures in Amphibia, and that it only gets white spots when its entering adulthood.
When Anne, Sprig and Hop Pop go into the basement, they find that Domino 2 has hatched from its chrysalis and transformed into a giant cat-moth creature. She tries to eat the Plantars, but Anne manages to drive Domino 2 away using the toy Mouse Domino 2 played with. She throws the toy mouse into the forest and Domino 2 chases after it, seemingly never to be seen again.
Season 2[]
In "Scavenger Hunt", Anne meets a young axolotl named Efty with a pet Kill-a-Pillar named Goblin.
Domino 2 makes a cameo appearance in "A Day at the Aquarium" as one of the many Coral formations that remind Anne and the Plantars of their adventures.
Season 3[]
At some point between the events of "The Domino Effect" and "Fight or Flight," Domino 2 became the Alpha Moth of a wild pack of Kill-a-moths and had given birth to six caterpillars.
Domino 2 returns in "Fight or Flight" where she is stealing food from the Wartwood Resistance for her kittens. She is then captured and taken to one of King Andrias' robotic camps. However, upon recognizing her, Anne decides to go and rescue her and convinces Sprig to accompany her while some of the other Wartwood residents look after her kittens. They discover that she's been collared and is being used along with a bunch of other Kill-a-Moths to power one of Andrias' machines. Anne manages to free her from the collar, and at first, it looks like she's going to try and eat her. However, much to Anne's joy, it turns out she remembers her and they share a tender moment. Only moments later though, Sprig gets eaten by another Kill-a-Moth, but Anne manages to rescue him with help from Domino 2. They then start to leave, but seeing that Domino 2 wants to free the other Kill-a-Moths, Anne decides to go back and free them. Right after they get all their collars off and cut the ropes that bind them to the machine, they try to eat Sprig again, but thankfully, as it turns out, Domino 2 is their alpha, and seeing Anne's distress, she commands them to leave Sprig alone. Anne and Sprig then fly the liberated moths back to Wartwood, with Sasha dubbing them their new flying artillery.
In "The Beginning of the End", Anne and Sasha rode Domino 2 in order to get on the Newtopian Castle. However, they were all later captured by the Core, who ordered them all fitted for mind-control collars while it planned to dissect Anne for her power.
In "All In", Domino 2 was held captive in the castle's dungeon along with Anne, Sasha, Grime, General Yunan, the Plantars, Frobo, Joe Sparrow, and Lady Olivia, but later escaped. Anne, the Plantars, and Frobo would ride her to board the Newtopia castle and then later return with the rest of the heroes to Amphibia with King Andrias and the Newtopia Castle.
In "The Hardest Thing," Domino 2 can be seen carrying Anne, the Plantars, and Grime outside the Newtopia Castle to the ground. After Anne's sacrifice, she mourns Anne's temporary death along with everyone else, and expresses happiness and relief upon seeing her revival. Later, after Anne and her friends celebrate their victory, the girls leave Amphibia where Domino 2 is among the party bidding farewell to them. Nine months later, she and the Orange kill-a-moth are seen flying over the valley of Amphibia.
