David Johnson is the main antagonist of the Roblox multiplayer horror game Before Truth, serving as the overarching antagonist of Chapter 1 and the main antagonist of Chapter 2.
He is the patriarch of the Johnson family that sent a report to the Detective Center, an organization focused on investigation that the player is part of, saying that his wife and daughter have been found missing when he came back home from work. However, later in the game, he is revealed to have killed both of them using a monster that broke out of it's containement, as well as luring the player into a trap by imprisoning them in his underground laboratory.

David Johnson was born on a unknown date prior to 2002, where his daughter, Clarice (born on June 16th, 1996), started writing her diary when her mom forced her to do so to improve her language.
When Clarice was 10 years old, David gave her two barbie dolls. Despite always giving nice toys to her, she mentions that her father never smiles. She also mentions that David gave her a telephone so she could call her friends, even though she wanted a mobile phone instead, which she was promised to have on her 13th birthday.
On February 29th, 2008, she had a nightmare about her parents dying when she came back from school (which, ironically, is the same event that happens with David some months later).
Chapter 1[]
On May 4th, 2008, David called the Detective Center, reporting that his wife and daughter have been found missing when he came back from work. Lisiting the case as either a disappearance or a murder, the Detective Center sends the player to investigate.
However, during their investigation, they notice a tall creature stalking them around the house, who would run after them if looked at. Once inside the underground laboratory, the gate closes down behind them, as David and the monster appears in front of them. David then mocks the player, saying that they really thought he was innocent, before laughing maniacally as the player begs him to let them out, as the screen cuts to black, foreshadowing the later release of Chapter 2.

- It is implied that David broke the monster out of it's containement, as it is seen to be teaming up with him at the end of the game. Due to this, it is also implied that he made it kill his wife and daughter so he could lure the detective inside the house and trap them underground.
