Channel Surfer is the main antagonist of The Mask cartoon series episode "Channel Surfin".
He is voiced by the late Gary Owens.
Biography[]
Prior to the episode (and series), Channel Surfer was originally a man named Raymond Neilsen, known as a couch potato as proof of owning numerous television in his apartment. When he discovered that he beloved tv show "Pointy Peaks" has been cancelled, due to numerous written letters to have the show cancelled. He continued surfing all the channel in hopes of finding it, until he became so upset that he hit the TVs, causing a few of them to fall into him and he became Channel Surfer.
He makes his first appearance when he arrived at a Electronic store, stealing numerous televisions, speakers, VCRs and other electrical stuff, only to encounter the mask, who came to buy stuff and charge it to Stanley's card. After being defeated the mask, Channel Surfer escaped and returned to his hideout, where it was revealed that his plan is to force all of edge city to watch his shows and no one else, but to do that he would need to get rid of the mask, which gave him an idea.
After arriving at Stanley's apartment via tv, he tricked the mask into going into the tv, where he use his powers to trap The Mask inside the tv world while he begins his plan. Afterwards as he started to set up, he encountered Kellaway and Doyle, where he used his invention to put them in a hypnotize trace.
After finishing up his designs, Channel Surfer begins his plan by putting on a rerun of the series finale of "Pointy Peaks", but of course, due to the numerous speakers, it causes the city to be panic. Luckily The Mask was able to defeat Channel Surfer by having him be absorbed into a satellite dish and blasted into space, but not before vowing to return one day.
