Al, Fred, and Johnny Capuano, known as the Capuano Brothers, were three brothers that operated as Italian mobsters and bootleggers in New York City during the early days of prohibition.
They are minor characters in the 1984 crime epic, Once Upon a Time in America. Fred Capuano is played by Frank Sisto, Al Capuano is played by Clem Caserta, and Johnny Capuano is played by Jerry Strivelli.
History[]
By 1920, the Capuanos have become successful bootleggers, and run their own gang. They have done business with Irish crime boss Bugsy.
They are later visited by a gang of street youths that formerly worked for Bugsy, they present their idea that would help with potentially salvaging any of their illegal shipments from the water if they were to be confronted by the coast guard. After a successful demonstration, the Capuanos paid the kids for their assistance.
