The Big Bad Wolf is the overarching antagonist of the 2018 Japanese stop-motion short film My Little Goat by Tomoki Misato, loosely based on the fairy tale The Wolf and the Seven Young Kids.

Biography[]

Much like the original fairy tale, the wolf tricked the goat kids into opening their front door by mimicking the voice of their mother. The wolf promptly attacked the seven children, devouring six of them with only Nono, the youngest kid who hid in the grandfather clock, avoiding his wrath. Once the mother goat came home, Nono told her about the wolf and they were able to track him further in the meadow taking a nap after his meal.

With the wolf asleep, the mother goat cuts open his stomach with scissors, managing to rescue five of the children, who are still alive but have been horribly burnt by the wolf's stomach acid. However, the oldest child, Toruku, had already been digested, much to the mother goat's distress.

Unlike the fairy tale, the wolf's fate is left ambiguous, leaving it uncertain if he died or not. Following the incident, the mother goat becomes traumatized over the safety of her children. During the climax of the short, Natsuki's father turns into a wolf, symbolizing him to be just as vicious as the Big Bad Wolf.
