Agent Stone is the secondary antagonist of the Sonic Cinematic Universe.
He is the loyal right-hand man of Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik, whom he originally aided in trying to capture the titular hero when the government assigned them to do the task.
He is portrayed by Lee Majdoub, who voiced a younger Basim Ibn Ishaq in Assassin's Creed Mirage.
Appearance[]
Stone is an average height slim man in his late 20's to early 30's with short, slicked black hair and brown eyes and has a neatly trimmed beard. He also wears a black suit with a navy shirt and black tie.
Personality[]
At first, Agent Stone appears to be a normal and level-headed man and very loyal to his boss, as he is used to Dr. Robotnik's antics and understands him more than anyone else. He has also shown to be a complete subservient to Dr. Robotnik, as he takes the abuse and humiliation from Dr. Robotnik without question. He also genuinely cares for or admires Dr. Robotnik, to the point of making lattes for him, and considering Dr. Robotnik enjoys said lattes, Agent Stone is the only person Dr. Robotnik has shown any kindness to.
However, it's shown that Agent Stone can be nearly as dangerous as Dr. Robotnik himself in the comic book Sonic the Hedgehog 2: The Official Movie Pre-Quill. His admiration toward Dr. Robotnik goes even further, to the point of borderline obsession over him. He not only misses Dr. Robotnik during his absence but also brews coffee drinks forming the shape of his and Dr. Robotnik's face with heart shapes surrounding them, showcasing his obsessive loyalty.
Biography[]
Sonic the Hedgehog (2020)[]
Agent Stone is first seen in the film accompanying his egomaniacal boss, Dr. Robotnik, to investigate the power outage accidentally caused by Sonic. He and Dr. Robotnik start to harass and belittle Major Bennington, "translating" Dr. Robotnik's words for Major Bennington as Dr. Robotnik sends his army of drones to locate the source energy and begins the investigation. He is later seen with Dr. Robotnik who analyzes Sonic's footprint.
After one of the protagonists of the film, Tom Wachowski, punches Dr. Robotnik in the face and escapes with Sonic, Agent Stone quickly enters Tom's house and helps Dr. Robotnik, only to be humiliated by him for not chasing after Sonic and Tom instead. And then, Agent Stone picks up Sonic's leftover quill.
When Tom calls the Green Hill Police Station, Dr. Robotnik, Agent Stone, and the other agents monitor the call. Agent Stone is later seen accompanying Dr. Robotnik interrogating a bar patron who was encountered by Sonic and Tom.
After Dr. Robotnik fails to capture Sonic and having his drones destroyed, he orders Agent Stone to pin himself to the wall and starts to vent his frustrations onto him before noticing Sonic's quill in Agent Stone's coat and begins to analyze it.
As Dr. Robotnik jams to music while analyzing Sonic's quill, Agent Stone accidentally sneaks up and scares him, offering him a latte with steamed Austrian goat's milk, to which The Doctor strangely scolds Stone by praising his barista skills in an angry manner. After analyzing Sonic's quill, Dr. Robotnik tells Agent Stone to ready "The Prototype". He is not seen again later on.
After Dr. Robotnik is sent to the Mushroom Planet in the final battle, he begins to lose his sanity. This is shown as he finds a rock, decorates it to resemble his henchman complete with a moss beard and carved-in smiley face, and calls it "Agent Stone," a pun on the fact that he's talking to a rock disguised as his Agent, lugging it around as he cracks insane jokes to it while questioning why it won't laugh at him.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2: The Official Movie Pre-Quill[]
Agent Stone serves as the main antagonist of the comic, appearing as the main antagonist of "Hedgehog Day Afternoon", and the protagonist villain of "The Secret Of My Distress".
After the events of the first film, Agent Stone found a contingency plan by Dr. Robotnik that was left for Agent Stone prior to his final fight with Sonic in case he was defeated so that Agent Stone could survive without him. In it, Dr. Robotnik gave Agent Stone instructions on how he could succeed him and take over the world. Agent Stone's first step was to retrieve Dr. Robotnik's Control Glove so he could control Badniks, which was located in a bank. Agent Stone hired Lindsey and Jason, a pair of thieves, to rob the bank and find the glove.
However, Lindsey and Jason turned on him after they realized the power of the Badniks and attempted to take the glove for themselves, but Agent Stone managed to hack the final Badnik they summoned and used it to take the glove from them. After gaining the Dr. Robotnik Control Glove, he had to ingratiate himself into the society of Green Hills and slowly take it over from inside. To do this, he became a Barista for a coffee shop, but his boss, Karen treated him very poorly, even spitting his own latte in his face in disgust and telling him to clean up her mess.
He remembered that Dr. Robotnik had warned him about all sorts of people, such as suckers, scammers, and people without ambition. Agent Stone told one of his co-workers that he would be controlling everything in the shop in about a week, and would make Karen bow to him. On his first day, his co-worker Tina asked him to cover for the weekend as she had an important family meeting to attend, which Agent Stone accepted, but Tina was lying about the family meeting, instead wanting to go to the beach and take a week off. Believing she was clever for tricking Agent Stone, she had only fallen into Agent Stone's trap, who had several Badnicks dismantle her car behind her so that she couldn't go back home, leaving her stranded on the beach. Since Tina could not come to work, Karen replaced her with Agent Stone, who moved up in the ranks.
Karen's assistant manager became suspicious of Agent Stone and directly told him about it. The next day, Agent Stone had several Badniks kidnap the assistant manager, but is not shown what happens to him afterwards. With both Tina and Karen's assistant manager missing, Agent Stone became the new assistant manager. However, Agent Stone decided to keep the only employee who had not wronged him around, but only for his own benefits. The next day, he framed Karen for money laundering, getting her arrested. He then gave her a phone call while she was in prison, telling her that the shop is in good hands now. Only when he hanged up, did she realize that it was Agent Stone.
With Karen gone, Agent Stone became the new owner, and he could change the name of the shop to whatever he wanted, changing it to Mean Bean Coffee Cafe.

“ | Doctor. It's really you. You look different. | „ |
~ Agent Stone to Dr. Robotnik. |
Eight months after Dr. Robotnik’s first defeat, Agent Stone was still making lattes for his clients, though he still missed Dr. Robotnik, and his job with him until he got a text from his boss about making his Austrian goat latte, which got him excited, and he kicked everyone out of the store to celebrate and announce the return of his boss.
After Dr. Robotnik appeared with a new look, as he was bald, and with a new mustache, he was well dressed for his arrival, and gave him his latte until he met Dr. Robotnik's new ally, Knuckles, a warrior echidna, and screams in pain as he shook his hand because Knuckles squeezed it.
Agent Stone, Dr. Robotnik, and Knuckles opened Dr. Robotnik's new base, and he learned about the Master Emerald, an emerald of great power, and was amazed at the power his boss would have, as he would use it to exact revenge on Sonic. He stayed in the cafe while Knuckles got upset with Dr. Robotnik for leaving Agent Stone behind.
A day later, he was looking for new suits for Dr. Robotnik, but was interrupted by Wade Whipple, a police friend of Tom's, who thought he was a robot because of his hands, though Agent Stone proved to be human, and was questioned by Wade about bagels. Agent Stone was rescued by Dr. Robotnik, who possessed the power of the Master Emerald, and in order not to abandon his boss again, he decided to go with Dr. Robotnik to form a tornado by the power of the Emerald.
With the Death Egg Robot built, Agent Stone was inside with Dr. Robotnik as they celebrated the destruction until Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles showed up to stop them, and he had to learn how to use the robot, and Dr. Robotnik launched the missiles at the heroes. During the fight, Agent Stone was knocked out until the robot's destruction. After Dr. Robotnik's defeat, Agent Stone somehow survived. And then, he disguised himself as a G.U.N. agent (presumably through incapacitating an agent and stealing their uniform), and heard another agent and Commander Walters talking about something called Project Shadow.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (2024)[]
When Dr. Robotnik's drones killed Commander Walters, Agent Stone informed Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles that he hadn't actually used them, and that Robotnik was still alive. He then took them to see Dr. Robotnik. Afterward, the group teamed up with Dr. Robotnik to investigate the person who was responsible for Walters' death using the drones. Later, when Dr. Robotnik reunited with his grandfather, Professor Gerald Robotnik, they took Agent Stone with them to their ship. At that moment, Shadow created a black hole to eliminate Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. Shadow then went off to catch up with Dr. Robotnik, Gerald, and Agent Stone. Unbeknownst to them, Sonic used one of Tails' rings to escape from the black hole. During this time, Agent Stone attempted to warn Dr. Robotnik that his grandfather might be up to no good. Unfortunately, Dr. Robotnik refused to listen, and he abandoned Agent Stone, leaving him shocked and dismayed. Luckily, Dr. Robotnik eventually discovered that Gerald planned to use the Eclipse Cannon to destroy everyone in the world, including themselves.
After defeating Gerald, Dr. Robotnik and Shadow decided to sacrifice themselves to destroy the Eclipse Cannon and save the world. Just before making the sacrifice, Dr. Robotnik told Agent Stone that he was a "syco-friend", and that he was going to miss their lattes with steamed Austrian goat milk. He also expressed, "I love the way you make 'em!", which was the same thing he had said in the first film. And with that, Dr. Robotnik and Shadow made their sacrifice, causing the Eclipse Cannon to explode. Tearfully, Agent Stone said, "Goodbye, Doctor." It's unknown what happened to him afterwards. However, it's possible that he started to plan his new future.

Trivia[]
- Agent Stone is very similar to Snively, as they both served under a version of Dr. Robotnik and were quite submissive to him. However, Snively is Dr. Robotnik's nephew, and he longs to usurp him, whereas Agent Stone seems to genuinely admire his Dr. Robotnik despite not being related to him.
- He can also be seen as a mix of Orbot and Cubot from the video games, as he understands what Dr. Robotnik's words mean, but somehow doesn't share the intellect with his boss.
- He can also be seen as a parallel to Grimer Wormtongue from Fleetway's Sonic the Comic, as they are both loyal and competent assistants to their Dr. Robotnik's with a pathological need to serve him that tolerate his abuse without question. Aside from that, they have countless other similarities.
- In the novelization of the film, Agent Stone fills the role of Commander Walters as the one who visits Tom and Maddie at the end, implying that he holds no grudge against them and Sonic, which contradicts the second movie where he is still a devoted servant of Dr. Robotnik.
- The name of Agent Stone's cafe is likely an allusion to the spinoff game, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine.
- When Agent Stone closes up his cafe, he pulls out a health inspection rating sign bearing an "A" rating to reveal one bearing "F-". It is unknown whether Agent Stone mismanaged his cafe so poorly that he had to fake a favourable rating or the "F-" is merely a ruse to scare away customers.
- Considering that Agent Stone has excellent latte making skills, the presence of numerous customers and the fact that a "C" is the poorest health inspection rating that can be given, this is likely a ruse.
- Despite being a major antagonist, Agent Stone had no direct interactions with Sonic or the Wachowski family, prior to the events of the third film. And even though he interacted with Sonic in the third film, he still didn't interact with the Wachowski family.
- In Sonic the Hedgehog 3, the only time that Sonic said Agent Stone's name was when he was telling him and Tails to go into one of the tunnels. Also, the only time that Agent Stone referred to Sonic by his name was when he was talking to Tails about him.
- Even though Sonic the Hedgehog 3 revealed that Dr. Robotnik was still alive, it's unknown how Agent Stone found out that he was still alive.
