Debra "Deb" Morgan is a deuteragonist of the crime series Dexter that ran from 2006 to 2013. She is the adoptive sister of Dexter Morgan and the daughter of Harrison Morgan. She was a detective turned lieutenant in Miami Metro Homicide.
Her Evil Ranking[]
Her Villainous Deeds[]
- Even though she is disgusted from the realization that her adoptive brother is a killer, she willingly helps him to burn the body of Travis Marshall at his abandoned church.
- She tries to alter evidence to avoid Laguerta from reopening the Miami Bay Harbor Butcher case.
- After Maria Laguerta rightfully arrested Dexter Morgan for his crimes, she let Dexter escape and killed Laguerta, though she felt horrible guilt after doing it.
- She shoots El Sapo to death although he deserved it.
- After she finds out that Harry killed himself because of what Dexter became as a result of his training, she attempts to kill Dexter as well as herself by hijacking his car and driving it into the bay to drown themselves.
Why She Doesn't Stand Out?[]
- Her worst crimes do pass the general baseline, but are not unique for Dexter villains such as murder. As a result, she fails the heinous standards of the series and fails to Jordon Chase (who is a cult leader who not only influenced his men to kill numerous women but also rape them despite his indirect kill count only being 12, which goes beyond the bog standard acts of the series), Dexter Morgan (who is a serial killer who killed 149+ people and started when he was 20), Brian Moser (although he has less kills than Dexter, his kills are far more brutal and gruesome than that of Dexter and even traumatized Deb because of his acts), the Trinity killer (who has the highest kill count in the entire series and has killed children), her father (despite him having about the same resources as her as they were both police lieutenants, his actions of training Dexter led to him becoming a serial killer, making him responsible for all of the people that Dexter killed in his time as a serial killer). And Evelyn Vogel (who was content with Dexter being a serial killer and was actually the one to develop the code of harry for Dexter to kill people who deserved it.)
- She is far too sympathetic and tragic for NPE.
- She lost her mother when she was 16 due to cancer.
- She was devastated when her father died and was falsely reported as a heart failure, this became even worse when the truth was revealed that he committed suicide because of his remorse of molding Dexter into a serial killer).
- She was heavily traumatized by Brian Moser as she thought that he loved her too, but only got with her to get closer to Dexter.
- After killing Laguerta, she fell into a deep depression and resigned from Miami Metro.
- Her death was played sympathetically as she had a stroke and went into a vegetative state, essentially going braindead before Dexter pulled the plug out of mercy and as he evacuated the hurricane, he took Debra's body out to sea in a sober manner wrapped in white, which symbolises that Dexter genuinely loves her and was his one link to humanity that is now gone.
- She is very insecure as she often doubts her abilities, morals, and place in the homicide department and wants to follow in her father's footsteps from this insecurity.
- She genuinely loves her family, even Dexter and goes as far as to try to reform Dexter to stop him from killing.
- She is genuinely heroic.
