“ What do we do? At this rate… „
~ Comrade C upon hearing Marley’s goal to obtain the Founding Titan.

The Bearded Titan also known as Comrade C, is a minor antagonist in Attack on Titan, being seen during the Battle of Trost District arc, and a minor flashback character in the Return to Shiganshina arc, appearing both as a human and as a Titan, and having only one line.

He was an elderly man from Marley and one of the main members of the Eldian Restorationists from the Liberio internment zone under the leadership of the "Owl" Eren Kruger and Grisha Yeager. He was arrested for treason, conspiracy and terrorism along with the rest of the Restorationists by Marley's Public Security Authorities and was condemned to serve a life sentence to the penal colony Paradis Island as a Pure Titans, along with the rest of his friends. Other known victims who were sent to Paradis along with him and Grisha are Dina Fritz, the Jumping Titan (who ate Thomas Wagner), Comrade D the Peering Titan (who killed Mina Carolina), and the one who killed Nac Tius and Mylius Zeramuski.

Their Evil Ranking[]

Their Villainous Deeds[]

  • He was a member of the Eldian Restorationists, a rebellious organization who intentionally attempted to bring the old Eldian Empire back from the dead and steal the Founding Titan’s power so they can crush Marley and control its population.
  • He showed no opposition to letting Grisha and Dina make their young son Zeke become a Warrior spy for their movement, despite the indoctrination at place.
  • After becoming a Titan, he would attack and try to devour Armin Arlert, but after he was saved by Eren Yeager, the Titan devoured him instead.
  • He has a fairly decent body count for a Pure Titan. Having killed dozens of Garrison and Trainee Corps members, as seen when Eren was in it’s stomach.

Why They Don't Stand Out?[]

  • He’s incredibly tragic, being forced to live and grow up in Marley as an Eldian, meaning that he was victimized for his race, being a Subject of Ymir. So his choice to become a restorationist has grayness to it. Considering his age, he could’ve been born close to the end of the Eldian Empire when the suppression of his race was presumably at its worst degree. His transformation into a titan was also completely against his will. Done by the same nation that was oppressing him, and he had to spend at least 18 full years as a Pure Titan before could be killed.
  • His worst crimes, which includes killing the young trainees and Garrison members was done when he was a Titan, which wasn’t done out of his own free will, as a Titan acts like a mindless killing machine with no understanding of the difference between good and evil.
  • Although he killed numerous people as Pure Titan, which he did with very low recourses and screen time. He still totally fails the heinous standard to many other villains in the series that include genocidal mass murderers.
  • He’s a very minor character that only has limited screen time, making him lack proper characterization.
