ExcaliburWP: Sword of Promised Victory (約束された勝利の剣, Yakusokusareta Shōri no Ken?) is the strongest and most majestic holy sword that symbolizes King Arthur. As that which can be called the physical actualization of her ideals and the symbol of her heroism, it is her greatest and most powerful Noble Phantasm. Its power is said to be rivaled by Rhongomyniad.[6]
Origin[]
Excalibur was created in 12,000 BC by six great Fairies in Avalon. It was created as a weapon to be used by the Planet against external threats. Excalibur was wielded by a human to defeat the White Titan, who had already killed most of the Gods.
Excalibur is a Divine Construct, the pinnacle of holy swords, and the strongest holy sword whose equal is the strongest demonic sword Gram;[7][8] one of the ultimate God-forged weapons, a Last Phantasm, forged by the Planet as the crystallization of the wishes of mankind stored and tempered within the Planet.[9] It was guarded by extensions of the Planet, Fairies, before briefly being passed on to Artoria Pendragon by the Lady of the Lake to act as a replacement for Caliburn and later returned to the lake before her death.
It and its scabbard, Avalon, provided partial immortality for its wielder. It is said that this sword, born in the Inner Sea of the Planet, exerts its true power only when an enemy that threatens the planet emerges.[3] While a powerful sword, it is said that Avalon was more valuable to Artoria.[10] When said to have answered Merlin's inquiry about which had more value with the sword being the obvious answer, the court Magus chided the king in that the scabbard which protects is more important than the sword which slashes the enemy.[11] She eventually lost Avalon, and replaced it with Invisible Air, which she continued to use during the Holy Grail Wars to hide the sword and her identity.
Excalibur and Caliburn are often confused due to their close nature in the legend. Both the sword from the stone, later broken, and the new sword received from Vivian, are called "Excalibur", but that was because they were originally two separate stories. They were later combined into a single narrative, the former becoming known as Caliburn and the latter becoming known as Excalibur.[12] There is also some debate about whether or not Excalibur was reforged from Caliburn, or if they were two completely different swords from the start.[13] The swords are similar in nature and appearance, though Excalibur is more suited to be used as a weapon. Excalibur has good performance as a sword, almost completely devoid of ostentatious ornamentation, and Caliburn is extravagantly adorned as a symbol of the king's authority, making its rank as a weapon lower. They have similar abilities based in using light to attack the enemy, which Shirou Emiya sees as an obvious conclusion from the similar appearance. There is a theory that Caladbolg is the same as CaledfwlchWP of Welsh mythology, making it a prototype of Excalibur.[14]
Attributes[]
While there are many other Noble Phantasms crafted more splendidly and with better skill, Excalibur is an illusion far superior to them. It cannot be called beautiful because of its appearance, for the description of "beautiful" will only dirty it. It is instead sacred, made from people's conceptions, a legend weaved purely out of hope. It is not a myth or inhuman work, but a "crystal trained by the heart alone", making it reign as the strongest fantasy. According to Da Vinci, the concept of the Holy Sword that is Excalibur utilizes the legitimacy of the Human Order itself and proof of Humanity's future.[15] It is the crystallization of the prayer named "glory" and everything etched in the hearts of those who are scattered at the sword's radiance; the nostalgic, sorrowful, and hallowed dream of those who were placed on the bloody hell called a battlefield, of all warriors past, present, and future fully exposed to the fear of death and despair, and who still cling to a desire: "to be exalted." Looking upon its light makes Gilgamesh fondly remember Enkidu, and it is able to make even Gilles de Rais, having fallen into brutality and smeared with corruption, remember the light and glory of his past that has been etched into his heart before it destroys him.
Excalibur is a typical Western sword with a length of ninety centimeters and a width of twelve centimeters, and it has Fairy Letters inscribed on it to show that it is not the work of mankind. It is normally clad in Invisible Air to hide its identity and increase its destructive power. It must be revealed to unleash its full power, and charging it with energy to slash an enemy, called the gold version (黄金バージョン, kogane bājon?), brings about an overwhelmingly superior power. Its destructive power widely varies, with Invisible Air showing a power from eighty to ninety and the gold version showing a power of around one thousand.[16] While it takes time to figure out the Noble Phantasms and identities of other Servants, Diarmuid Ua Duibhne was able to deduce Artoria's identity as King Arthur from a mere glance at the sword, claiming that any Heroic Spirit that has traversed time and space to join the Holy Grail War would never mistake her golden sword for any other.[17] According to Nemo the Holy Sword Construct measures "Threats to Human History" and, depending on the level of the threat, the sword gets supplied energy from the Earth's core. It is the Earth's defensive ability, the autopurifactory activity, like a white blood cell.[15]
As a Divine Construct, it is impossible to reproduce with Projection. While Excalibur Image is an exception due to the environment where it is replicated, it is possible that Unlimited Blade Works would normally contain degraded Noble Phantasms with similar abilities within its store of weapons.[18] Within the world of Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA☆ILLYA, the general rule still applies, but Kuro, inside the body of Illyasviel von Einzbern and using the Archer Class Card, manages to project it and release its True Name, which would normally be impossible even with the ability to replicate it. Though weakened, it has the ability to exceed the power of the original when faced with the manifested Saber Class Card.[19]
Usage[]
Excalibur is a "sword that amplifies", converting its user's Magical Energy into offensive power and releasing it. It is a weapon of directive energy that converts the Magical Energy of Artoria into light by accelerating it with her factor of the dragon, intensifying the kinetic energy by convergence and acceleration, allowing for the use of Divine Spirit-level thaumaturgy. It is an "ultimate killing technique" that releases light holding energy rivaling Artoria's entire Magical Energy supply[20][21] from the tip of the blade once the sword is swung. To an observer, it looks like a giant beam of light, but the attack's target point is only at the tip. It is the "ultimate slash" that cuts through everything in the "area" the light goes through. Its enormous power heats space around the tip, and as a result, it is interpreted as a wave of light that mows across the surface of the earth like a directed energy weapon. Even if it is dodged, those in close proximity can still be temporarily distracted by its intensity.
Excalibur is considered to be among the greatest of Noble Phantasms, with its speed, attack power, and reach upon being activated surpassing and remaining unrivaled by all others.[2][12][22] In terms of competing against others in pure power, only Ea is known to be able to match and surpass it.[22] The speed required for activation is less than a second, slightly surpassing the speed of the charge of Via Expugnatio.[22][23] It requires a sufficient amount of distance between Artoria and her enemy, and the further the distance of the opponent will increase its effectiveness. Once something is struck by it, no human Magecraft of any kind can match it.[22][23] Both hands are needed to use the attack, so losing access to her hands means being unable to use the ability. After the tendon in her left hand was severed by Gáe Buidhe, making it impossible to move her thumb or exert enough strength to grip the sword hilt, Excalibur's strength was lowered to Anti-Unit.[5] The Doll of Zachary Ainsworth, utilizing the Saber Class Card, is still able to invoke Excalibur despite losing one of his arms; however, with only one arm, his accuracy with the Noble Phantasm was drastically reduced to the point that the Shirou Emiya from Miyu's World was able to easily dodge the blast and Zachary's remaining arm is wounded from the attack.
It ranks as an Anti-Fortress Noble Phantasm due to its magnitude and destructive power, far surpassing Anti-Unit and Anti-Army Noble Phantasms. Artoria generally attempts to aim it into the sky due to its destructive power, able to incinerate an entire military cohort of one thousand soldiers and turn the ground into scorched earth, leaving a great disorder in the land that would never fade.[24] Briefly touching the ground against Iskandar, it left molten asphalt and burns away a forest, and used against Hercules in the Einzbern Forest, it leaves a large enough crater deep into the forest that can easily fit two people.[23][25] When launched into the sky, it can be seen from far around, even cutting into the clouds. It also quickly incinerates the Gigantic Horror, capable of instantly regenerating with damage under the constant assault of four Servants, by annihilating every single atom of its flesh.[1][20]
The Magical Energy consumption is extremely high, leaving Artoria exhausted after usage, and it cannot normally be fired consecutively.[1][2] Releasing the sword where others can view it will allow others to instantly figure out her identity.[2] This requires her to use it only as a last resort, compared to the weaker but easier to use Invisible Air.[24] As her opponents are the size of humans, its size and energy cost is unnecessary when compared to those with the cost and efficiency to use just enough power to kill the opponent.[2] If used without enough energy or a Master to actively replenish her, it can cause her to instantly fade away upon usage.[26] When used while weakened by her connection with Shirou, she could only activate it once before she is almost out of energy, while she can use it more times upon retrieving Avalon. It is possible to activate it without sufficient energy, but the resulting Excalibur will be weakened. When used in Night Without Dawn, Artoria failed to defeat Hercules, likely barely able to take off even two lives before instantly fading away compared to the full powered version that could potentially kill him outright.[27]
Excalibur's destructive power can also be a negative trait that limits its usage as it can easily damage the surrounding area and kill a large number of people if used under the wrong conditions. This trait makes it impossible for Artoria to use it against EMIYA during Fate/hollow ataraxia due to the great risk of destroying the Central Building and numerous buildings around it to reach him. Artoria can somewhat control the output with precise calibration, but it is still easily capable of completely destroying Fuyuki's church while holding back energy to minimize collateral damage. It is possible to limit its destructive power if the opponent focuses on close-range combat, and it cannot be used against opponents who fight at extremely close range, such as Sasaki Kojirou, who could cut off her head with Tsubame Gaeshi the instant she began to gather energy into her sword.[23][28]

Excalibur Morgan[]
Excalibur Morgan: Sword of Promised Victory (約束された勝利の剣, Yakusokusareta Shōri no Ken?), also known as Black Excalibur (黒エクスカリバー, Kuro Ekusukaribā?), is the form Excalibur takes after being corrupted by evil. Just as the fairies of the Lake, Vivian and Morgana, can coexist as polar opposites embodying good and evil, Excalibur can also hold a dual existence of good and evil. Due to its nature as a sword that amplifies, it is blackened when Artoria was blackened by Angra Mainyu, reflecting her inner feelings and corrupted nature as Saber Alter.
The blackened Magical Energy is the primeval Curse that lurks in the British Isles, and it is Artoria's older sister, Fairy Queen Morgana, who has inherited it from King Uther. The name of this holy sword has changed because it may be the only connection that Artoria has with Morgan le Fay, with whom she could never see eye to eye until the very end.[3][29][30] Its darkness is similar to the breath of the dragon Vortigern.[32]

Becoming the "Black Sword of Ultimate Light", Excalibur Morgan is no longer sheathed in Invisible Air and takes on a different appearance. Rather than creating an almighty slash at the tip of the sword, Excalibur gathers a large amount of Magical Energy to cover the sword in a black light with the same shape. It matters not if it is filled with good or stained by evil as the fact that it is the strongest holy sword and thus does not change.[33] It can either be used to attack as a blazing black flame in a similar fashion to the regular Excalibur or, as shown in Fate/unlimited codes, swung like a sword in an upward arc multiple times as a technique named Vortigern: Hammer of the Vile King (卑王鉄槌, Hiō Tettsui?). Due to the corruption and the enormous amount of Magical Energy received from Sakura Matou, Artoria Alter can fire this version of Excalibur without limit.[29]
Even when Artoria Alter is in her Santa form, Excalibur Morgan remains unchanged in its function. In comparison to the Elizabeth Báthory in her Halloween form and her Noble Phantasm, Báthory Halloween Erzsébet, one can feel the difference between their Noble Phantasms as Excalibur Morgan's name remains unchanged and does not take on a twist with her associated holiday.[31]
Artoria Santa Alter utilizes Excalibur Morgan as a jet engine for her sleigh, propelling it into the stratosphere with great force.[34] Although it is an unnecessary item for Santa Claus, a monster may appear at Christmas due to some mistake, so she brings it to ensure no losses.[31]
Excalibur Image[]
Excalibur Image: Forever Distant Golden Sword (永久に遙か黄金の剣, Eikyū ni Haruka Ōgon no Ken?) is a degraded version of Excalibur utilized by Archer that can only be utilized within Unlimited Blade Works. It is normally impossible for Unlimited Blade Works to replicate Excalibur through projection, but the conditions for where wrought iron is possible are boosted within the Moon Cell to allow for the replication of holy sword-class weaponry with inferior performance compared to the originals.[35] In Fate/EXTELLA LINK, it is shown usable outside of the Reality Marble.
Excalibur (Archer Class Card)[]
Originally, Excalibur and other things that surpasses human limits such as Divine Constructs cannot be projected. Even if it were possible, that person is not the user and therefore cannot release their True Name. However, Illya did just that. Even if it was weakened, its output still exceeded that of the original. It is noted to be an advanced exploit that Kuro was unable to fully replicate upon manifesting a body of her own, so its ability is likened to a "paper mâche version" when she projects it again as a Broken Phantasm arrow[19]

Bedivere's silver arm Airgetlám is actually Excalibur which was transformed by Merlin to keep it concealed until Bedivere could return it to the Lion King.
Gray[]

Gray's Mystic Code, Add, is capable of transforming into many weapons, and one of those forms is an imitation of Excalibur. Add seals Artoria's holy spear Rhongomyniad inside himself and there is no real reason to have Rhongomyniad imitate Excalibur, but it was something set up by the cultists at Blackmore Cemetery who sought to revive King Arthur.[36]

Excalibur Vivian[]
Excalibur Vivian: Sword of Radiant Sunlight Victory (陽光煌めく勝利の剣, Yōkō Kirameku Shōri no Ken?) is the Noble Phantasm of Artoria Pendragon in her swimsuit. It is named after Vivian, the Lady of the Lake.
While Artoria is in her swimsuit, Excalibur can be attached to the barrel of her water gun similar to a bayonet. This allows her to make water appear when she slashes the sword and fire off a powerful beam of water. According to Artoria, this is because Excalibur "was originally something entrusted by the Fairy of the Lake," a statement that is considered rather childish.[37][38]
Laser Excalibur[]
Laser Excalibur (レーザー・エクスカリバー, Rēzā Ekusukaribā?) is a Noble Phantasm belonging to Galactica Saber.

Once up on a time, there was a king in England named Arthur Pendragon. He was the legendary king who staunchly defended the land from the invading Saxons for a long period of time.
The name Arthur, written in the fashion of Romans is “Artorius”. Its feminine form is “Artoria”, which is the true name of Saber.
Artoria was born between Uther Pendragon and a Queen hailed from the rival kingdom. She grew up under the guidance of the True Magician Merlin, and became the king after pulling out the Sword of Selection. Later, she led Lacenlot, Gawain, and other famed knights to achieve innumerable deeds. They engaged the King of Saxons at the Battle of Badon Hill and brought peace to the land of Britain. Because the Scabbard of the Holy Sword stopped her from aging, Artoria continued to reign as the ideal king. It was ironic that Queen Guinevere and the serving knights grew more distant from Artoria precisely because she was too ideal. In the civil war that raged at the end of her reign, she crossed blade with her very own son, Mordred. At that instant, she pledged her service as a Heroic Spirit after death in exchange for striking a pact with the World. The one wish she hoped the Holy Grail could realise was “redo the selection of the king”. In legend, the body of King Arthur was transported to the Fairyland – Avalon, where he is healing his wounds in serenity.
Tactics
Saber’s ability is maximally unleashed while engaging in an honourable face-to-face single combat. It is a method of battle that is full of chivalric honour, and it is also one that suits Saber's sense of aesthetics. However, this does not mean she dislikes strategising. Because she is also a capable military commander, she tends to loath fabricated strategies that have no concrete basis. She fine-tunes her strategy meticulously. While on the battlefield, she further adapts her actions in response to the ever-changing dynamics of combat. Naturally, Saber despises cowardly actions, strategies or not. For this reason, in the Fourth Holy Grail War, her compatibility with the cool-headed, achieving-his-goal-at-all-cost Master Emiya Kiritsugu was the worst.
Class Abilities
Magic Resistance: A
Artoria boasts the highest rank of resistance to magic amongst the Servants. She is capable of completely neutralising grand sorceries involving magic arrays and instant contracts. Even modern magi of the highest level cannot wound her directly with sorcery. Artoria is able to resist an action force onto her powered by one stroke of the Command Spell. Such is the extraordinary rank of Artoria’s Magic Resistance, sufficient to shake the very foundation of the Servant System. If the opponent is someone who attacks with sorcery, Artoria will charge without fear and determine the outcome of the battle with a slash.
Also, as her “Pendragon” name shows, Artoria is the holder of the Element of the Red Dragon, charged with the task of protecting the kingdom. She carries the very magical power of the Dragon. This humongous magical power is also the source of Artoria’s Magic Resistance. Due to the characteristics of Dragon, Artoria has much trouble with existences such as Siegfried, who is associated with tales of “Dragon extermination”. If she is targeted by “Dragon-slaying Sorceries”, it is possible that Magic Resistance will not function to its fullest extent.
In the story, Artoria retained her Magic Resistance of A while having Emiya Shirou and Rin as Masters, regardless the two’s differences in power and characteristics. On the other hand, while having Matou Sakura as her Master, her Magic Resistance decreased to B as a result of Blackening.
Riding: B
Since “knights” are soldiers who are proficient in mounted warfare, Saber’s rank in Riding is very high. Chariots can be ridden the same way. Motorcycles and automobiles are treated as “modern mounts”, thus a high rank in Riding is also applicable. It is unclear if Riding is applicable to aircrafts. Saber’s Riding was elevated to A while having Emiya Kiritsugu as Master. However, Artoria can ultimately only control normal mounts. She cannot control Pegasi, Griffons, Dragons, and other Magical Beast, Divine Beast Ranked Phantasmal Species. This is due to her Class not being Rider, as well as the fact that she was a King in the Age of Man, thus did not have the fortune of having “Legends of Riding Phantasmal Species”.
Artoria rode a motorcycle in the Fourth Holy Grail War, but did not have the opportunity to demonstrate her Riding ability in the Fifth Holy Grail War. Provided with the appropriate mount, the battles might have developed differently.
Personal Skills
Instinct: A
Instinct is the ability to instantly identify “the best personal course of action” during combat. Because this skill allows for the prediction of trajectory, it is possible to avoid attacks from firearms. At rank A, it is essentially in the realm of predicting the future. Through this ability, it is possible to negate the penalties inflicted by visual and auditory interference to a certain extend.
Being able to discern Cú Chulainn’s ultimate technique certainly reflects her skills, but having exceptional Instinct also helped her immensely.
Mana Burst: A
The ability to reinforce one’s weapon and body through the infusion of magical energy. By reinforcing the ability of the body to a great extend using magical energy, the physically fragile Artoria was able to fight head on with monsters such as Berserker. At rank A, even a stick can become a weapon of great power.
Executing large-scale body reinforcement through Mana Burst is only possible with Artoria’s immense magical power.

Artoria possessed high Charisma, and reigned as the king of England. The morale of military forces she commands is extremely high. However, this strong influence is still insufficient to build a vast empire spanning the world, so it remains at rank B (enough to rule a country).

A barrier that renders the blade hidden by entangling it with layers of wind, and altering the light refraction rate. It is closer to a sorcery than a Noble Phantasm. By using this barrier, Artoria can attack without the opponent recognising the sword’s reach and trajectory. Since concealing one’s Noble Phantasm also conceals one’s true identity, Invisible Air was highly effective at the early stages of the Holy Grail War. It also has other advantages such as increasing attack power and accuracy. Entangling the sword with wind and using the wind as the blade enhances the attack power, while having an “invisible weapon” provides an advantage in accuracy. (Translator’s Note: It is probably more “decreasing opponent's evasion” in RPG terms.) Since the advantage of Invisible Air lies in “invisibility”, the accuracy increase will not occur while engaging opponents who possess Eye of the Mind or do not depend on vision.
In the Fourth Holy Grail War, Artoria unleashed the condensed air and used it as a long-range weapon that mauls down groups of enemies --- “The Iron Mallet of the Wind King”.

The greatest and most powerful Noble Phantasm of Artoria (Translator’s Note: Not Avalon?). It is the strongest and most majestic holy sword that symbolises King Arthur. The pinnacle of holy swords. Excalibur was not forged by mankind, but crystallised within the Earth, using the wishes of mankind as the basis. It is one of the ultimate God-forged weapons, a Last Phantasm. Originally cared for by the Faeries of the Planet, it was passed into the hands of King Arthur through the Lady of the Lake.
Excalibur converts the mana of the wielder into light, and as the sword is swung, the light is released from the tip of the blade like a laser beam and destroys everything in its path. Of course, the mana consumption is extreme, thus it cannot be fired consecutively. In the Fourth Holy Grail War, the beastly giant sea monster summoned by Caster was completely incinerated by this Noble Phantasm. Excalibur is classified as an ‘Anti-Fortress Noble Phantasm” due to its magnitude and destructive power.

The sheath of Excalibur, a Noble Phantasm with its origin in the Fairyland Avalon where King Arthur rests. The wielder will heal from any wound, and the aging process will cease. Unleashing the true name of Avalon will deploy a Bound Field that provides the greatest defence. A Noble Phantasm that annuls the interference of True Magic; its existence is equivalent to True Magic.
In legend, losing this sheath casted an ominous shadow onto the life of King Arthur, eventually cascading to the collapse of the kingdom. In modern times, the Einzberns excavated Avalon at Cornwall and passed it into the hands of Emiya Kiritsugu. Afterward, it was planted into the body of Emiya Shirou to save his life, eventually becoming the link that led to his bond with Artoria. In Fate Route, Artoria learned that Shirou was her “sheath”, which led the duo to emerge victorious in the Holy Grail War.対魔力: A

Sword of light. It is not a man-made weapon, but rather a divine construct tempered by the planet. It is the Noble Phantasm standing at the very pinnacle of holy swords.
The strongest illusion (Last Phantasm), crystallized and refined from the wishes of humanity stored in the planet.
Though it was entrusted to elementals, who act as the planet's sense of touch, it temporarily passed into the hands of a human king for a time.

The sword of light possessed by Saber. A holy sword forged by an existence beyond humanity. It is considered among the strongest of Noble Phantasms. Further, it has good performance as a sword and is almost completely devoid of ostentatious ornamentation.
In Arthurian legend, it appears as the holy sword possessed by King Arthur. Once, while concealing his identity as the king’s son and being raised by the wizard Merlin, a young Arthur pulled a sword from a stone and became king. Another time, having broken his sword, King Arthur received a new one from Vivian, a fairy of the lake and guardian of the king.
Both of these swords are called “Excalibur”. However, while the sword in the stone and lady of the lake incidents were originally two separate stories, at some point they were combined into a single narrative. As symbol of the king’s authority, it is more extravagantly adorned than Excalibur. Because of this, its performance as a weapon is also lower than Excalibur’s.
In the legends, Caliburn is broken when King Arthur engages in a fight contrary to the principles of chivalry. Afterward, he receives a new sword, Excalibur, from the fairy of the lake. Caladbolg is the demonic sword wielded by the Irish hero Fergus mac Róich in Celtic mythology. The version that Archer projects has been altered to improve its function as an arrow.
In the legends, Fergus mac Róich was the former king of Ulster and foster-father of the hero Cú Chulainn. However, he was tricked out of his kingship, and later allied with Connacht, an enemy of Ulster. During the decisive battle between Connacht and Ulster, Fergus was able to corner the enemy king who had betrayed him, but was prevented from killing him. It is said that he redirected his rage at this turn of events upon three hills, using Caladbolg to blast their tops clean off.
Cú Chulainn is affected by a geis that makes it his duty to be defeated once by the sword so long as the wielder is Ulster-born. For that reason, it could be said to be his natural enemy.
Also, there is a theory that the Caladbolg from Celtic mythology is the same sword as the Caledfwlch from Welsh mythology, making it a prototype of Excalibur.カラドボルグ Ⅱ

The black mud in the Holy Grail contaminates the souls of those who touch it. It goes without saying for mere humans, and supernatural beings like Servants are no exception to this either. The contaminated person's personality reverses toward the orientation of evil. This is madness caused by touching Angra Mainyu. This is called "blackening". There are those who can use the black mud as part of their own power thanks to the properties of its contamination and those whose powerful egos have stayed back its mental pollution.
An example of the former is Matou Sakura and the latter is Gilgamesh. The blackened Servant is incarnated by the power of the Grail so the more concrete ties to the physical plane turns them into powerful beings.
Their physical interference power increases but at the same time they lose the ability to return to spirit form.
Also, as they no longer bother to restrain their magic energy consumption, their fighting ability jumps significantly. This momentum can be compared to a runaway train.

Saber Alternative, or Black Saber, is the name given to Artoria when she fell to Hassan, was consumed by the dark shadow, and obtained true incarnation during the "Heaven's Feel" route.
Artoria, now jet-black, could now invoke Excalibur without limit thanks to the enormous prana supply from the blackened Sakura. Thus, she could overwhelm Berserker Heracles even in a direct battle. Now unfettered and in a sense more powerful than she was in life, none can deny that she is the strongest Servant.

Lower than original value due to the corruption. Still high, as it nullifies spells at B rank (activated within three counts) or lower, and it is difficult to harm her even with high thaumaturgy.

In the maddened state while blackened, the loss of fine control makes it impossible to ride beasts; rather, the mount cannot withstand it. Therefore, in reality one can consider the Riding ability lost.

Constant self-control is required to maintain Saber's reason while blackened. To focus on suppressing her madness, her surroundings are neglected and Instinct is dulled.

Saber's body is always suffused in the energy supplied by the Greater Grail. Her armor is also reinforced, granting more defensive ability than in her original state.

Excalibur’s appearance after being corrupted by evil. Excalibur functions by converting its user’s magical energy into offensive power. Because of this nature as a “sword that amplifies”, when Saber was blackened, Excalibur blackened with her.
In Arthurian legend, King Arthur received Excalibur from Vivian, a fairy of the lake. Just as the fairy Vivian who embodied goodness had her polar opposite in the evil Morgan, so too does Excalibur have the possibility of embodying both good and evil. Archer's noble phantasm. A barren wasteland lined with a thousand blades. A great ritual deployed using eight lines of projection. A type of old world magecraft, called a reality marble, which manifests the internal world of the caster and writes it over the world for a small amount of time. All of the weapons Archer can project are there and in this space he doesn't have to project them from scratch, instead he can immediately pull out the weapons sticking out of the ground.
In EXTRA, the conditions for where wrought iron is possible are boosted so projection of holy-sword class weaponry is possible, though their performance is inferior.
Okay truth is, I was surprised to find that the staff in charge of the 3D had made animation for Excalibur being projected while I was looking the other way.
Well it is new animation after all and there's no reason to reject it. So long as it's a degraded version, I guess it's okay.無限の剣製【宝具】
