- Spiral is a Mini-Con from the Armada portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.
Spiral leads the Street Speed Mini-Con Team, which isn't an easy task considering her teammates' personalities. But she's a tough one, the fastest, smartest, and strongest of the Team, who won't hesitate to verbally --or physically-- put someone in their place. She's garnered a bit of a reputation for having a short temper, but she's got the muscle to back up her aggression.
- Japanese Armada name: Sieg
- Japanese Cybertron name: Gagenda
Fiction[]
Animated continuity[]
Armada cartoon[]
Spiral's Mini-Con storage panel was detected underground, near a major highway under construction. Both Autobot and Decepticon braved battle and heavy traffic to retrieve the panel. The Decepticons, thanks to the digging strength of Scavenger (who was in reality an Autobot agent undercover) came close to obtaining it, but the arrival of the mysterious Sideways tipped the battle in favor of the Autobots, and with Hot Shot's newfound skill with the Star Saber, the Decepticons were forced to retreat and Spiral was saved.
Back at the Autobot base, while Billy was getting dirt-bike rides on Sideways, Spiral offered to give a ride to Fred, who was moping about missing all the fun. Fred accepted, but quickly regretted his decision and commenced with the whining. Gale
- (Note: Spiral's model shows up many many times in various colors in various group shots of Mini-Cons, often several in the same shot. It's safest to assume that Spiral is the one rescued in the tunnel, and all the others are just Mini-Cons with similar bodyforms, a not uncommon occurrence at all.)
Later Spiral, Backtrack and an unknown Mini-Con are assigned to repair "tune up" Megatron following a close encounter with the Requiem Blaster. Runaway
Dreamwave comics continuity[]
Armada[]
Spiral and the rest of the Street Speed Team were among the Mini-Cons who lived on Earth's Moon, until Dualor brought the Earth-based Mini-Cons there, which also brought the Decepticons. Spiral and the others escaped in a rocket-pod that crashed in north Alaska, leaving them deactivated. Ultimately the Autobots were successful in retrieving the pod.
Spiral returned to Cybertron and helped Over-Run activate the Mini-Con Matrix, which dealt a critical blow to Unicron.
Cybertron toy bios[]
The Street Speed Team were sent to Velocitron as advance scouts for the Autobots. The planet's mass of winding high-speed tracks really appealed to them, to the point where they started having a hard time tearing themselves from the road to get their missions underway.
Toys[]
Armada[]
- Street Speed Mini-Con Team (Basic, 2003)
- Japanese ID number: MM-06
- Spiral transforms into a Mercedes C-Class luxury car, available only in a three-pack with Backtrack and Oval. Like her fellow Street Speed Mini-Con Team members, her car mode wheels are designed to allow for much faster rolling on smooth surfaces.
- This mold was also used to make Servo, and Armada Skid-Z. It was planned to be used for Energon Clocker and packed with Ultra Magnus, but that release was changed late in the production run and given a different Mini-Con Team.
- Silverbolt and Turbo with Speed Micron
- Japanese ID number: MS-05
- Sieg Overdrive Edition (Mini-Con, 2003)
- Individual members of the "Overdrive Edition" redeco of the Team were given away at the 17-day Japanese "World Hobby Fair" in January/February. In April, they were also available as random giveaways at Ito Yokaido stores with the purchase of any Micron Legend product.
Cybertron[]
- Street Speed Mini-Con Team (Basic-class, 2005)
- Japanese ID number: GC-08
- A retooling of the first Spiral mold, she now transforms into a highly-modified Mercedes. She was only available in a three-pack with her teammates.
- This version of the mold was used to make Cybertron Jack.
Unreleased[]
- A red-and-white redeco of Spiral was planned to be released as part of a “refresh” version of the Street Speed Team in Armada. The coloration of the Team was a “one-off” of the Takara Overdrive Edition version, with each toy’s main color shifted over to another one.
Notes[]
- For whatever reason, the Street Speed Team is the only Armada Mini-Con Team to not have an X-Dimension release.
- The Japanese Galaxy Force version of the Street Speed Team is one of the very few mass-retail "new"-mold Japanese Transformers toys to not show up in the accompanying cartoon.
