While tending her backyard garden, she had the chance to observe Sam's new car in action. Upon seeing it emit a large cloud of black smoke, she paused for a moment, then told her husband Ron that he was cheap. Ron maintained that since it was Sam's first car, it was supposed to do that. It's unlikely Judy believed that.
On the day that Sam's car chased him around town, she was enjoying an evening of television and a little drinking with her husband when Sam came home three minutes past his curfew. Judy felt that he should be grounded for this, but Ron—that pushover—let him off the hook. While the Autobots milled around in her back yard (and crushed her flowers and new water fountain), Sam and Mikaela Banes snuck into Sam's room to look for Archibald Witwicky's glasses. Just a few minutes later Ratchet accidentally stumbled into the house's power lines, cutting the block's electricity, and fell down. Ron thought it was an earthquake and took cover under the dining room table. Amazed and still sitting on the couch, Judy looked over to him and asked, "How'd you get over there so fast?"
Just a moment later, they headed upstairs to Sam's room, from where noises and lights were originating. She begged Sam to open his locked door before Ron started counting. Just before Ron reached zero, Sam opened up. Judy asked him why he was all grimy and sweaty. He was acting strangely. She asked—not judgmentally, just trying to get to the bottom of things—if he'd been masturbating. She seemed to be the only person not embarrassed by this, and had a few suggestions as to what the act could be called if her son was uncomfortable referring to it as masturbation. Eventually, Mikaela—who had been hiding—stood up to try to explain things. Judy was delighted to realize that Sam had been hiding a girl in his room. She complimented Mikaela and apologized for making her sit through their "family discussion". Mikaela told Sam she thought his mother was very nice.
Sam and Mikaela then went down to get his backpack from the kitchen, but they were interrupted when government agents swarmed the house, stepping all over her flower beds, and started asking questions. Judy bravely stood up to the men, threatening to beat the crap out of them for touching her plants and to kick their asses if they hurt Mojo, but eventually the whole family was carted off.
Much later, after the Decepticons were defeated, Judy and Ron were interviewed for a newscast of some sort. They pish-poshed the idea that aliens had been tromping around the area, and expressed their faith that the government would let us know about that sort of thing if it were going on. After the interview, Judy awkwardly pointed out that their interviewer's head is a different shape in person than on TV.
Revenge of The Fallen 2009 film[]
She was a bit sad to see her son go to college (and was more than willing to show her sadness). However, she is nearly driven insane when the Witwicky home is nearly demolished due to Sam Witwicky accidentally dropping the All Spark Shard, thus forming new transformers.
Later, she expresses her joy at seeing the college, and touring around. During the tour, however, she bought a marijuana-loaded Brownie from one of the denizens, believing it to be an environmentally friendly Brownie due to the leaf-symbol. When Sam Witwicky noticed the symbol, he tried to warn her of the nature of the brownie, but she ignored him, thus resulting in her going around the campus being higher than even Blackout; talking excitedly to complete strangers about her son, and tackling a local professor, thus embarrassing the entire family in the process with Ron Witwicky having to carry her home on his shoulder.
After the experience, she and her husband, Ron Witwicky, visit France to make do with the fact that they have the empty nest syndrome. When the Decepticons try to contact the denizens of Earth to start their reign of terror, Soundwave tries to contact her via cell phone to make known this threat, but she mistakes it for someone with "perverted mouth breathing," due to Soundwave's deep voice. She as well as her husband are later captured by one of the Decepticons shortly after the invasion, and later brought to Egypt so the Decepticons can try and force Sam to give them the Matrix of Leadership in his Dirty Sock of Destiny. When Sam tells them to get into Bumblebee so they can get to safety, she's the one who ultimately persuades Ron to heed Sam's advice. When Sam is killed by Megatron, she is sad for some reason. Go guess...
Dark of the Moon film[]
She and Ron had been travelling all around the world. They decided to stop in D.C. to meet up with Sam and Carly, which was extremely embarrassing for Sam.
After Sentinel levelled N.E.S.T's headquarters and stole the Pillars, Sam ran all the way back home to try and find Carly. Seeing that she wasn't around, he dashed into his parent's RV to ask them if they had seen her. Inevitably, this escalated when Sam told Judy that she may have broken up with him. Judy calls a family meeting, and begins to pull the Agony Aunt routine on Sam, while he tries to explain what's really going on. When Sam finally gets out of the meeting, he tells her and Ron to get out of D.C. and as far away from populated areas as soon as possible.
Notes[]
- According to writer Roberto Orci, Judy was named after his mother-in-law.[1]
- Her on-high escapades during the College tour resulted in both the University of Pennsylvania and Princeton forcing Michael Bay to not reveal what college Sam was going to.
- She has a bald spot.
