Alliance is a 4-part comic series published by IDW Publishing which originally ran from December 2008–March 2009. It serves as both a sequel to The Reign Of Starscream and as a lead in to Revenge of the Fallen, and as such is in direct continuity with the film. Alliance and another four-issue story arc called Defiance are together known as Destiny.
Alliance is written by Chris Mowry, with pencils by Alex Milne and colors by Josh Perez. Providing art for some of the issue covers is Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen concept artist Josh Nizzi.

Overview[]Prior to the Mission City battle, Wreckage is experimented upon by Sector Seven. After the Mission City battle, the Autobots help Captain Lennox eliminate rogue 'bots brought to life by the AllSpark, and then leave before Sector Seven arrives. Sector Seven wants help from Lennox, who has agreed to help the Autobots. While Barricade sends out a signal for Decepticon help, Starscream plans his revenge.When the time comes to dump the robot remains in the Laurentian Abyss, Optimus travels with Jazz's remains, leaving a fragment of the AllSpark with Sector Seven. The shard reactivates Wreckage,who goes to find Megatron after scanning a new Alt-Mode but Starscream and Bumblebee arrive in time to help. Starscream kills Wreckage. He battles with Bumblebee and destroys his voice box. Starscream receives a signal from Soundwave, and goes to rendezvous with the latter. Soundwave deploys a crew of Decepticons around the world to follow orders from a mysterious master. In response to their screw-ups with Megatron's escape, the Mission City battle, and the last shard of the AllSpark, John Keller officially disbands Sector Seven. After Jazz's remains are laid to rest, the Autobots enter an international alliance with humanity called NEST, tasked with combating the Decepticon forces that menace Earth. Bumblebee returns to his position as Sam's guardian, while Lennox and Optimus lead NEST with Epps, Ironhide, and Ratchet. The organization proves effective, despite mounting concerns from the US government regarding property damage and innocent casualties. Several Autobots, even new ones arrive on Earth, responding to Optimus' call, and are quickly integrated into NEST. After clearing out the majority of Soundwave's Decepticons, NEST informed of a looming battle in Shanghai, setting the stage for Revenge of the Fallen. Collections[]
