Tokusatsu with Matte Paintings

These are the tokusatsu films and TV series featuring some of the matte paintings (traditional, and later digital) that were used for backgrounds, or combined frame by frame to impersonate the hand-drawn or computer animation techniques. From the Japanese artists, the matte paintings were called "composite drawings" or "synthetic drawings/animation".
