Japan World Heroes is a biannual Tokusatsu convention based in California. Created by Power Morphicon showrunner Scott Zillner with the intent of hosting guests from other Tokusatsu franchises outside of Power Rangers. it features fan cosplay, Japanese toy vendors, purchasable art/collectibles, and opportunities for fans to meet an actor/crew member from the shows through photo-ops and autographs.[1]
The first convention was in Pasadena, California at the Pasadena Convention Center on August 26, 2017 and ran until the following day. The second convention was on August 16 to August 19, 2019, once again taking place in Pasadena, Califorina at the Pasadena Convention Center.[2]
The third convention had been announced on the offical convention Facebook page for 2021, but was later canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic that was ongoing at the time. Zillner announced on the official website that the convention would be rescheduled to take place in 2023. Originally, it was going be rescheduled to coincide with Power Morphicon at the same time and place in 2021, as the former was pushed back a year, but both were canceled for the year and pushed to separate years with Power Morphicon taking place in 2022.
The third Japan World Heroes took place at the Burbank Marriott Hotel in Burbank, California on August 18-20, 2023 for the bi-annual event.
A fourth convention is in the very early planning stages, but no specific date or location has been locked in, the event year however will likely be following the bi-annual pattern and was slated to take place in 2025. The 2025 California wildfires, however, left Mr. Zillner with no choice but to announce other conventions that he organized would be rescheduled. No new announcements on the status of Japan World Heroes 4 have been made at this time on if it will continue in 2025 or be postponed to 2027.

Notes[]
- Japan World Heroes is the first convention in the United States to be dedicated entirely for Tokusatsu.
- The third convention's proposed 2021 date would have aligned with the 45th season of Super Sentai, the 55th anniversary of Ultraman and the 50th anniversary of Kamen Rider.
- After the second convention, Mr. Zillner announced a new non-tokusatsu convention would be part of the family of events he organizes, Toon-Con, which would be held every two months after every Japan World Heroes in November.
