Geoff and Scratch have a one-sided friendship. Scratch sees Geoff as little more than an annoying coworker and hates being around him. Due to his fun-loving nature, however, Geoff likes Scratch unconditionally and loves spending time with him, a feeling that he does not share. Despite this, the two ghosts make a perfect team when facing common enemies, somewhat changing Scratch’s opinion of him. Geoff also seems to like helping Scratch out whenever he needs help, although this at times can annoy Scratch when he wants to do things on his own.
Overtime, Scratch began to warm up to Geoff as shown in Scare Tactics when they played Hooky together in order to get out of a seminar or when Geoff saved Scratch going to the The Flow of Failed Phantoms
